Touring colleges with my son has reinforced for me that college campuses are the ideal 15 minute cities. Everything you need (education, food, exercise, community, healthcare, transit) is easily accessible. It’s no wonder parents like me are nostalgic about it. We should all live this way.

Ha! True. That was a nice perk while it lasted.

This gives me some hope that higher gas prices nationally will spur more drivers to convert to EVs. Not necessarily in the short-term because <gestures widely at our fucked up economy> but perhaps in the longer-term. I’d like to think some good things could result from our country burning down. 🫠

It makes me think about why EVs are more popular/better supported here. Some of it is lots of folks who are attracted to new technology, want clean air, etc. But surely some of it is that our gas prices are higher than elsewhere, so a higher cost EV pays for itself more quickly here.

I’ve heard the most resistance from folks in the Midwest and on the East Coast where the charging infrastructure is not as robust as it is here. I think we’re a bit spoiled on the West Coast having a better charging network.

I mean, everyone is kind of being an abrasive jerk because trauma this season, aren’t they? Except Whitaker, whose scenes with Santos bring out her humanity.
