Cis women are too comfortable with transphobia.

MAGA is more susceptible to a different sort of ragebait, but non-MAGA keep falling for clear bot accounts on here every. single. time.
So many people who should know better are arguing with accounts that are both following and followed by 5.1k ppl and claim to be retired dads from Nebraska. C'mon.
for an idea of how big a deal this is, my mom was in great shape when she got diagnosed and she lasted less than sixty days. six years is insane.
The video is horrible and completely unacceptable to post.
It's an insane expectation! It's insane that I need to have a job, hobbies, and the knowledge and experience of a House Representative (or at least an aide)! You know, lest some priss snark into a microphone about an understandably frustrating situation.
Also, we wouldn't be yelling if talking did the job.
As I say, I shouldn't need to be this tuned in to what my officials are doing. But they've shown both stunning cowardice and glaring incompetency, so now this is our job as regular people.
If it were a studio making poor decisions, I would say that one way yelling is a parasocial nightmare. If you're going to bitch about the thing you volunteer to interact with, you need to praise what you like, or you bring the whole room down.
Like, this is a completely inappropriate relationship.
Elected officials represent the people. They're either in touch enough to do what we want, or--now more than ever--we have to yell at them to do what everyone's already saying.
It's just so bonkers to me that we have people treating our elected officials like studio execs or--IDK--content creators. "See, they did the thing! Where's your praise?" Bitch, I should not be hitting the 5calls website more than once an election cycle, and it's daily with these people.
I don't actually think that heaping praise on elected officials for doing the bare minimum during the rise of fascism is a moral imperative. I'm too busy trying to David and Goliath this shit.
We elected them to do a job, and we've been having to micromanage them on every. little. task.
I'm not sure she understands what exactly we're asking, and while I'll admit my ignorance, I'm really not sure the only option available is "do nothing, because the Republicans control everything anyway."
I love that I had a top three cities this could be, and the comments got two of them.
(The third was West Bend)
After seeing the Marines let ICE in on their graduation ceremony, I've come to the conclusion that the armed forces overall are filled with not just dumbasses (which we all knew) but total pussies.
You stupid cnt, get off your bitch ass and do something. Holy shit.
Failed creative to far right pipeline in action, it would seem...
Kind of hard to focus with the threat of nuclear annihilation looming.
Not really a "name five things you can see, four things you can touch..." sort of situation, if I'm going to be quite honest.
People love to talk about redemption for people who have shown no interest, intention, or sincerity about it. It would maybe be a conversation if we had people who tried to make good but received public abuse, but that's not an issue we're having.
Right now, it reads as preemptive damage control.
As one of the few midwesterners who isn't religiously Catholic, I never thought I'd be this invested in the Pope. No irony; I'm just really happy to see how he uses each moment.
This is both terrifying and also a terrible idea. But also
Of COURSE they’re scabs. Of fucking course.
(Not to bang on, but...)
The truth of the matter is that there's no national org that's going to be worth a shit. Community action takes place in the community. You can't sidestep the need to go outside and talk to your neighbors. Alt NPS feels convenient, but it's at the cost of taking action
"We pinky promise to donate to a charity" and "we're a charitable organization" are two very different things, and it's a bit disconcerting to see people bamboozled by it.
Understandable, but disconcerting.
There are so many local organizations who are validated and doing the work; go there!
"We've been donating..." I'd like to see the numbers on that, frankly, because I sincerely doubt it.
It also bears repeating that "separate the art from the artist" isn't an everything proof shield. It's a discussion about how much of an artist's views affect their work and an argument for analyzing a work on its own merits.
It does not apply to JKR. She told us how she wants her work interpreted.
Advocate: J.K. Rowling uses Harry Potter wealth to fund anti-transgender organization.
You absolutely cannot separate the artist and the art without contributing to the persecution of trans people. Boycott everything Potter.
"We can pay ICE but we can't pay TSA?"
Pay neither, you dumb fucks.
"I'm okay with, like, a light militarized state. Like we shouldn't be able to move freely w/in our own country, and we should have a police force that answers to no one and faces zero repercussions for bad behavior." --these ppl
I got on a list in much the same way.
A lot of people warn about this wrt block lists, because a LOT of people got similarly swept up d/t someone not fully reading a post, getting overzealous, or just feeling irritated. That's crowdsourced moderation for ya... //shrug
A lot of people have been loving Finch. It doesn't penalize you for not finishing a task, which is nice. It's a bit more fun with friends/family, but it's pretty cute overall.
I think the most famous example of media inspiring careers is Dana Scully in the X-Files inspiring a bunch of women to pursue a career in STEM <3
