RIP Asha Bhonsle. impossible to sum up her legacy, her impact, her rich and vast discography in any form. she and her sister (Lata) were probably the last real royal dynasty in India. and they kept singing for so long! Asha was on a gd Gorillaz album just this year!
Santner is getting snowed by Salt and it's wild to see.
A moment of silence for a legend of music, followed by chants of "Kohli!" in Wanhkede is wacky... and oddly appropriate for the IPL. #cricket
Major WNBA free agency domino: 3x All-Star Satou Sabally has agreed to sign a multiyear deal to join the New York Liberty, agent Zack Miller of WME Basketball tells me, @shamsbot.bsky.social & @kendra-andrews.bsky.social
Sabally departs after helping lead the Phoenix Mercury to the 2025 Finals
Breaking: 7x WNBA All-Star Skylar Diggins has signed with the Chicago Sky, the team has announced.
Diggins has signed a two-year deal with the team, I'm told.
This is going to haunt me as a brand-new-to-Godzilla fan
I am so tired of being deluged with the sordid details of sexual crimes. It feels nonstop since 2014. Yes absolutely those stories should be told. I get that this is how justice begins: with victims having voices, stories being heard, and so forth; I've been supporting that forever.
Fifty!!! Samson gets his first half-century in yellow. 50 off 26.
CSK 74-1 after 8.1 and attempting to gain their first win of the 2026 campaign.

good morning, everyone. good morning, friends. good morning, Horrors Beyond My Comprehension That Are Also Simultaneously Not At All Surprising But That Are Nevertheless Worthy Of An Existential Crisis About How We Got To This Point. good morning, birds.
Michigan was the first team to ever start five transfers in a National Championship game (win or lose).
Also: The first look at the 2026-27 season, because it's never actually way-too-early: www.espn.com/mens-college...
Re: β¬οΈ
The Big Ten also won titles in menβs wrestling (Penn State) and womenβs ice hockey (Wisconsin) this season, and has two teams left in the Frozen Four (Michigan & Wisconsin). π³
This might be my favorite:
The Big Ten joins the SEC as the only conferences to win a national title in FBS football, menβs AND women's college basketball in the same school year.
2025-26 Big Ten
FBS: Indiana
MBB: Michigan
WBB: UCLA
2006-07 SEC
FBS: Florida
MBB: Florida
WBB: Tennessee
Michigan is also the 5th national champion to average 90+ PPG in the NCAA tournament. It's in rare air, with:
1965 UCLA (100 PPG)
1990 UNLV (95.2)
1970 UCLA (90.5)
1989 Michigan (90)
Michigan scored 541 points in the 2026 NCAA tournament, just ahead of the 540 it scored the other year it won the title (1989), for the 3rd most by any team in a single tournament all-time:
1990 UNLV (571)
1988 Oklahoma (552)
*2026 Michigan (541)*
1989 Michigan (540)
Michigan finished 2-15 (13.5%) on 3-pointers, the 5th-worst 3-pt FG pct in the national championship since the 3-point line was introduced in 1987 and the 2nd-worst by any champion ahead of only UConn (1-11, 9.1% in 2011).
oh. my. god. MICHIGAN
A 4th double-double for Tarris Reed Jr. ties the most by a Big East player in a single NCAA Tournament, along with:
2023 Adama Sanogo, UConn
2009 DeJuan Blair, Pitt
2007 Roy Hibbert, Georgetown
2004 Emeka Okafor, UConn
This is Elliot Cadeau's 22nd career game with 15 points. He did not reach 20 points in any of the previous instances.
Entering today, his 21 games with 15 points were the most of any Division I player without a 20-point performance in the last 30 seasons.

First up π¬: In National Championship game history, teams to lead by 1 to 4 points at halftime have a record of 15-15.

Side note: I'm a noted* Los Angeles hater** (the city, sports, everything), so today is the only time you're gonna see me celebrate the UCLA women's champs lol (because, damnnnnnnn). Back to hating SoCal tomorrow.
