New year, clean slate. Start logging every catch in 2026. Fish on a measuring board? The app detects it and zooms in for quick length entry. You'll thank yourself by fall when you can see your patterns. Less screen time, more line time.

With all he rain we've had in Michigan, the rivers are blown out. So I explored a new (to me) lake yesterday! Managed to locate a few largemouth to keep the skunk away!

Made it out on the water for the first time this year!

I've been working on the catch a fish -> take a picture -> measure flow. Pretty happy where its at, just a few bugs when the screen rotates to cleanup!

Michigan Department of Natural Resources master angler badges for 2021 and 2022.

Michigan Department of Natural Resources master angler badges for 2021 and 2022.

Throwback to my Master Angler patches from 2021 and 2022. It's been two years, but every trip on the water is an adventure, and I'm having much fun chasing the next one!

Tight lines, and maybe a new patch in 2025!

I was able to import my data from the now defunct Anglr App.

The process required an old android phone that I had to root to get access too.

What do you wish you knew about your past #fishing trips/catches?

Here's some of my stats breakdown from 2021.

he background features a calm river surrounded by lush green trees, representing the fishing environment. Overlaid on the background is a smartphone displaying a close-up of a fish being measured on a kayak, emphasizing the app's catch-logging capabilities. Dashed red lines connect fish-shaped location markers on the river, symbolizing the app's ability to track fishing spots. The top-left corner displays the FishBytes logo, a minimalist fish icon, alongside the app name. Below it, the tagline "LESS SCREEN TIME, MORE LINE TIME" highlights the app's goal of minimizing distractions while fishing, with key words in bold colors to grab attention.

While out fishing, my goal is to fish and disconnect, not tinker with an app on my phone. Now there is obviously little irony with that last statement, but still the goal is to minimize manual input of data. Allowing me some time to reconnect with nature.

A 20 inch smallmouth bass. A person in a kayak is measuring a fish using a ruler-style measuring board. The person's gloved hand, wearing blue patterned gloves, is holding the fish in place. The scene is outdoors, and the kayak, fishing gear, and water are visible in the background. Two bounding boxes with labels "board" and "fish" overlay the image, seemingly marking the objects detected in the photo.

What new features should be added next?

1. Fish Length Verification?
Or
2. An Interactive Aquarium of all your catches?
