When the catastrophic floods & food shortages hit 🇬🇧 later this year politicians will claim that they are an event out of their control, whilst they continue to fail to reduce emissions & transition to renewable energy, because they’re bribed by fossil fuel companies not to act.
Almost everything we argue about is a substitute for the thing we should be arguing about: the immense wealth & power of an oligarchic class, which captures governments, ruins lives and wrecks the living planet.
This class redirects our rage at scapegoats. To resist its lies is to resist its power.
Starmer doesn’t have the integrity & humanity a PM needs. From helping Israel with genocide to criminalising protesters the @UKLabour record on human rights is shameful. The appointment of Mandelson ignored the rights of victims of abuse & that’s unacceptable, Starmer must go.

I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧵
