WoW's writers truly have like a baby's grasp on storytelling

Sabellian was so cool until the Unity Avengers hit him with the Knowing Smile and it drained him of all his ambition

“But he was there too!” WoW has been so adamant only Sylvanas is responsible for Teldrassil and the rest of the Horde was there just to, I dunno, shake their heads disapprovingly. Set my boy free

As much as I’d love for them to tear out Shadowlands from the walls and just soft reset her, it probably wouldn’t go over well. So instead they should just put Nathanos in charge since he shares her ideals but has a slightly different dynamic to the other Forsaken since he’s not their idol like her

Yes! Like I can't believe the elves solved decades of problems with each other just because Arator said they should get over it. I'm convinced Elf Unity is more about giving Arator a legacy for his parents to compliment more than anything

Yeah give us somethin' like that at least, right? They're going to have to inevitably find reasons for the elves to break up again (I hope) if they ever do anything faction-oriented

I think it's great to make Rommath gay, especially, but making Umbric his partner feels contrived. It feels less like a genuine relationship and more assurance that Rommath would, in the end, acquiesce to the Velves and Elf Unity because suddenly he has a soft spot for Umbric

"But one time--" If someone's being a douchebag block and report them. It's blizzard's responsibility to curate the player base. Why are we catering the game to account for a hypothetical minority of assholes

Some of you guys need to be babied by your media so much that the moment you see conflict, you lose touch with reality. Wanting explorations of fictional political identity is not advocating for racism. Enjoying the faction divide is not looking for a reason to hate other players. This is stupid

Frankly the one thing more frustrating than their story choices is that the writing team seems completely disinterested in the setting. Porter's right, there could be a lot to explore, but they just don't really seem to want to

Anyway justice for Rommath his ex is toxic

You could argue the Darkwell's damage doomed the Sunwell anyway, but the Dawnwell is such a disco ending that they could have just as easily said "well actually this crystal removes the void entirely"

You'd think the void aspect would be making the elven populace insane but because it's the void elves doing it it's safe actually. They invented A Crystal you see.

Like the void isn't necessary. It doesn't have any benefits. The Lightbloom was only an issue because the Vanguard was overclocking the Light aspect. And "We can't depend on wells" falls flat because we just remade it anyway!

Crazy that Rommath was ultimately entirely right that the void would ruin the Sunwell (turned it into tap water I guess) but everyone decided that's good actually so it's fine. We like that the well is useless now. Because of dawn.

With how often they try to reference back to Shadowlands there’s a feeling of trying to force players to like what they write rather than trying to write what players want

I really just worry that this issue will only spread as we solve more and more of these stories.

I've unfortunately become absolutely terrified at the potential of a Lordaeron patch in Midnight, because a story about unity with enemies is the *last* thing the Forsaken need.

"Dawnwell" more like the death of my fucking GOAT

Of course the ultimate reasoning is always "Well because of greater world-ending threats" but that just makes it glaringly obvious how bad these world-ending threats are to the health of the setting. If your characters are yelling "For Azeroth" the stakes are too high

You're filled with RAGE just seeing the high elves and you're prepared to meld your organizations together???

Midnight's been doing this weird thing so far where they pay lip service to tensions and grudges and disagreements but then it's all solved in like 2 seconds and they reach a perfect accord with zero strings attached

It's so sleek compared to the new ones that I miss it

damn dude you had these banners drafted and made before even knowing you were going to become a void elf

2 weeks ago 3 0 1 0

Also weird Vereesa's like "omg maybe you can come back to us 🥺" girl you guys have been on opposite sides of war multiple times. What happened to the undead being reviled and rejected, that's like their whole hook as a race

2 weeks ago 1 0 0 0

Seeing that Post-Raid cinematic with Sylvanas again I think they may, genuinely, suicidally, be considering a Shadowlands 2 Expac

Also she ain't coming back anytime soon, Forsaken bros, she's a maw power ranger or something 😔

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

it's crazy it's not spread out more amongst the patches. Even if they don't do jack shit else, at least letting you sit in the different phases of the conflict would be helpful
