He is certainly someone that believes in liberal democracy. But he is also a right-wing conservative; just not a fascist autocrat. So don’t expect loads of progressive policies from Magyar.

True, but the speech telling him he has no business being president any longer came a day or two before.
Apropos of nothing: anyone that believes the UK has something even reminiscent of a functional system for contracts and property transfers needs to have their head examined. 🤬🥵😡🤬
!hot != iced 😉
If you haven't watched @jason-williams.co.uk talk on Temporal, I highly recommend it. Not only is it a great history of Temporal, which should make dates in JS *much* better, but it serves as a great primer on TC39, the committee that advances JS. Excellent work 👌
To my Hungarian friends: I rejoice with you in having shed 16 years of oppression. Now let’s work on establishing actual progressive parties in Hungary that actually support freedom for everyone!
He is a step back toward liberal democracy and away from autocracy. But do not expect anything progressive to cone out of his government.
He is also very far from progressive. Yes, he’s left of Orban; but only very slightly. He is still ultra-conservative and only got left votes, because Hungary lacks any credible party left of centre.
I am as happy as the next person about Peter Magyar’s win yesterday, but let’s be clear: he doesn’t really have a mandate for anything beyond more EU and less Putin.
You need a holiday in a warmer climate. If it’s warm enough your coffee can’t get cold enough 😉
What you can't miss? Dinner with me!
The set is an actual Set, not a WeakSet. Its contents are WeakRef's that get filtered if GCed. That's the whole magic. So this should actually iterate.
I think I'll have to write some tests for this in the morning.
Why? Line 99 defines the Symbol.iterator whixh delegates to .values()
You inspired me. Maybe we could do something as a utility like gist.github.com/pipobscure/6...
(done bleary eyed in bed without actually testing ever)
Then maybe link it to a location that isn't behind a login and write "Song: If Obama Had Done It" into your post. (Just a thought)

What annoyed me most when reading it, was this insistence that her particular breed of bigotry is "reason and truth".
Classic case of Christianity rotting the brain in my view.
I hope she's right though and the goddess welcomes her to the afterlife by d*ck-slapping some sense into her 😋
Ireland didn't turn out like the US because it was decolonised (albeit only partially) in the early 20th century not the 18th. Ireland has also not (yet 😉 ) become powerful enough to colonise others. Just give it time and watch the Irish go full Irish 😂
Well I finally managed to move to @eurosky.social as well. It was absolutely incredibly painless. It's pretty much the easiest migration I have experienced in 30+ years in tech. Totally amazed!
I still think "conservatism" is a misnomer: it's never been about conserving, but always about regressing to a "better past" that was usually objectively worse. So I have taken to calling it "regressivism".
good question.
I think we should call that report by the name of guy heading it, you know like if he was called Bob, we'd call it "The Bob Report". Sounds good to me.
You mean one headed by something like a former head of the FBI as am independent council? And they should then come back with a report to congress and the DOJ, so they can properly prosecute the felon in chief?
That's how they plan to replace the cuts to the NASA budget?
If only they allowed you to actually sign up without a BigTech account, they might actually be useful.
What a surprise (not). One more reason we should insist on privacy being a thing.
Did you say: "I shave my balls with a kitchen-knife, because I have to prove that I'm manly" 🤔
I mean that's what I heard.😉
Good example: climate change. We’ve known for 100years now that human activity impacts climate change. But since there were never clear and present consequences to the actors, we just went on to create AI.
