This is especially true in the context of voting where the U.S. Constitution prohibits the state from conditioning a benefit, such as exercising one’s right to vote, on the giving up of another right, such as a second citizenship.
Dual citizenship is a status long recognized in our country’s laws. And the government has neither the power to revoke citizenship recognized by another country nor the authority to force a U.S. citizen to renounce any citizenship status.
Sec. Gray’s new proposal to require all qualified electors in the state to be solely US citizens—requiring dual citizens to have to choose between renouncing one of their citizenships or relinquishing their constitutional right to vote and run for office—is misguided and likely unconstitutional.

Don't call it "election integrity." These bills would only throw chaos and confusion into Wyoming elections and create more expenses for our counties, who are already struggling with plummeting property tax revenues. Wyoming elections have proven to be safe and secure. These bills are unnecessary.
