i'm not saying that the Democrats should immediately announce a Universal Basic Pierogis campaign but I'm not not saying that

I think the problem with fencing is just always going to be the processing speed of the layman viewer, like in hockey. At some level, your understanding of what is taking place needs to develop to the point where you can track the motion consistently. Until then it's just visual noise.
We were happy to do it because, yanno, we live in a society and would like to keep it, but until vaccines it was very hard and scary even for what we knew was the ridiculously privileged end of the scale, and that's been totally memory-holed.
We had it about as easy as it was possible — we have good income, no kids, work in a WFH friendly field, and literally the day before lockdown moved into a house with good ventilation and an office for each of us. We even already knew how to bake our own bread. And it still FUCKING SUCKED.
like many, I avoided publicly complaining about staying home during the peak Covid years because I didn’t want to be associated with the MAGAs running around infecting everybody at the time.
but it’s been 6 years and I’d like to believe we can now talk about how it was both necessary AND hard.
Two men in fatigues with their hands ziptied being arrested by Capitol Police
Dozens of people in fatigues lined up in the Capitol Rotunda with signage demanding an end to the Iran War
Dozens of US military veterans were arrested at the Capitol today during a protest against the Iran War.

so they had the press secretary fire the labor secretary via tweet but the labor secretary is now like fuck off Oddjob, I'm staying and has lawyered up, just another day in the golden age of America
Christina Koch has officially become the first woman to complete a lunar orbit.
Today, I honored her and the Artemis II crew on the floor of the House of Representatives. As an NC State grad, she has made North Carolina extremely proud. Go Pack!
It actually, honestly, sucks how we seem to collectively deny the trauma COVID inflicted on our lives, from not masking to treating the disabled as expendable unconsciously to saving a buck by not installing better filtration systems...
This feels like it's gonna reach a breaking point, right?
SAURON WAS DEFEATED BY A HOME INVASION HE DIDN'T SEE COMING, DESPITE BEING LITERALLY A GIANT ALL-SEEING EYE.
I want to try one, or three 😙
Korean street lava cream cube bread!
It's a square bread blowtorched to produce a super crispy caramelized shell, and it's stuffed with so much creamy filling it's literally overflowing.
Every bite explodes with milky and caramel flavors.

I need those tiny Pullman Pans. NEED.
Look, for my money the absolute game changer technologies right now are batteries and biosciences, not statistically modeling a mid conversation, but you do you.
There aren’t enough characters to say this but the criminal conviction underscores the importance of journalism, as the case began with an investigative story in Le Monde. If we want a just and livable world for all, we have to support journalism financially.
A parody of the original Twitter 'fail whale' featuring Alf in the role of the whale, suspended by Bluesky butterfly icons
Cartoon: My bluesky fail whale updated for 2024. Enjoy.
“Vote blue, but it actually matters who” is the lesson of the last four decades
A weak democrat is effectively just another republican as a matter of how the government truly functions
I’m Scottish. We’ve qualified for the first time in decades. 🏴
Despite this, I would DEARLY love the team to tell Trump to away & fling 💩at himself.
No one from the rest of the world should be spending a penny in the US unless absolutely necessary. 😡
I'm so sorry. It's so hard to let them go - I hope you can feel the love that's been heading to both of you through all of this.
this one specifically
I bike past this good boi multiple times a week and it makes my day every time. Especially fetching in fog or twilight conditions when the sight is somehow surprising even after knowing him for decades.
Do I think that Graham Platner will pull a Fetterman if elected? I don't know.
Do I find it annoying that people portray white men who went to elite schools and grew up in affluent families as "working class" just because they hate wearing suits? Yes, definitely.
I remember AfterEllen! I don’t remember a lot of the details but you are not alone.
This is terrible news. We need places like Hampshire
Didn’t appreciate it at the time- not a lot of support structure for an 17 year old not from New England and still exploring academic fields-
But it framed my eventual career and educational philosophy profoundly when I left and found my direction elsewhere
A real loss. It was a special place, and a world of tedious same-ness.
Devastating: Hampshire College is permanently closing following the Fall 2026 Semester. A beautiful institution & community that has done so much for so many. My child is a current Hampshire senior. Hampshire's approach to education is so unique, humane, & exciting—I've seen it first hand. Tragic
I love their stuff!
Altman and the AI industry are trying to blame AI doomers, bad "messaging" and "incendiary" rhetoric for the wave of violence—all of which papers over the root of rage against AI. People are angry at what *the industry itself* has promised to do; at the broader AI project as currently constituted.
I think the victim emphasis is a big part of why they’re short-circuiting over him. he’s doing his job by saying not just “you guys are poisoning your souls with all this violence” but also specifically “Iranian lives are precious” and Americans are not used to hearing an American say that
It's so funny to me that right-wingers love to pretend to love the Middle Ages and the Crusades and all that and then complain that the Pope shouldn't get involved in politics.
