The Kite Star Cluster, also known as NGC 1664, in the constellation Auriga. This is 30 minutes of 10-second exposures, processed in Siril with some help from Graxpert and Cosmic Clarity. You can easily see the "kite" and "tail".

Thanks, it moves slower relative to the background when it’s near the horizon and faster when it’s passing overhead. And this was well away from the horizon.

Intergalactic Wanderer NGC 2419 globular cluster astronomy
This is globular cluster NGC 2419, also known as the Intergalactic Wanderer, found in the constellation Lynx, where globular clusters wouldn't normally be found. It orbits the Milky Way every every three billion years and its orbit takes it further than the Magellanic Clouds.

Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) from a few nights ago. It comes by here every 650 or so years. It’s in a really ‘starry’ part of the sky now which makes it extra nice.

The seestar was a trooper tonight, spent 5 hours out in < -5 degrees C weather, captured images of 32 stars, no problems whatsoever. The only reason we stopped was clouds.

I love the stories behind the constellations. The Greeks and many others saw whole soap operas playing out before their eyes in the skies each season.
It very well could have, the light from its explosion could be racing towards us now.

I didn’t have any set process for this. I created a FIT file from a raw video and played around with it in Siril and Photoshop until it looked ok. I tried to get some of the moons in too but then Jupiter washed out.
