Ok I am completely broken by this. The Hague and UN need to see this.

“That they should be the ones to welcome Pope Francis’s coffin in the basilica is because these people are those who represented the focus of his mission,” said Father Giulio Albanese, head of missionary cooperation and communications for the Vicariate of Rome. “They are those who live on the peripheries, geographical and existential peripheries.”
The final honor guard for Pope Francis included migrants, prisoners, transgender people, the homeless and others selected by the Vicariate of Rome as a symbol of the late pope’s mission of inclusion and outreach.

While measles has our attention, a whooping cough outbreak is on track to be the worst in the U.S. since the 1950’s. Already, there are more than twice as many cases as this time last year, and 4 have died, including 2 babies.

Friends, a bit of good news! 🎉 (We take it whenever we can!)
The Trump admin reversed their decision to cut funding for the Women's Health Initiative (WHI), a landmark study that’s essential in advancing our understanding of women’s health. 🙌
This is where we are headed.
The government texting academics to find out if they are Jewish doesn't seem at all worrisome from regime that has behaved in all respects like Nazi Germany, right?

there really is no alternative to tearing up CBP and ICE root and branch
Trump on collapsing visitor numbers to the US: “Not a big deal. We treat our tourists great.”
Here’s what the rest of world thinks:
Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants
the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever
they aren’t going into universities’ endowments
they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research
The freight guys have really started freaking out over the past 48-72 hours:
Now we know who the inspiration for Voldemort was.
they want us poor, sick and desperate
🚨NEW: Soldiers prevent Senator Chris van Hollen from visiting Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
Hollen & the Garcia family attorney were pulled over, after the military were ordered to stop them, 3km from CECOT.
NO-ONE is able to verify if Garcia is still alive and, if he is, what condition he is in.
JUST IN: Deputy Assistant to the President and "Counterterrorism Czar" Sebastian Gorka says anyone advocating for due process for Kilmar Abrego Garcia could be viewed as "aiding and abetting a terrorist" and be federally charged. (h/t Philip Germain)
All 27 scientists at this CDC lab were told their duties were "unnecessary," and now viral outbreak investigations have been halted.
Thirty-eight of 43 experts cut last month from the boards that review the science and research that happens in laboratories at the National Institutes of Health are female, Black or Hispanic, according to an analysis by the chairs of a dozen of the boards.
🚨 ICYMI: A draft 2026 budget proposal obtained by WaPo reveals the Trump admin plans to cut approx. $40 billion from the Department of Health and Human Services—about one-third of its discretionary spending.
As public health experts, we have serious concerns.
Let's dive in. 🧵
Let’s be clear - they’re not just deleting DEI policies and code words, they’re deleting actual people of color and women. www.washingtonpost.com/science/2025...
My adult daughter Rachel works everyday, pays taxes, loves going to movies with her friends, and listens to awful (IMO) music.
Our U.S. Dept HHS has lost all of its humanity, compassion, and intellectual curiosity
I put a hold on Ed Martin’s nomination.
He’s denied elections. Fired quality public servants. Attempted to chill free speech.
Turns out he’s also carrying water for the Kremlin.
So wholly unfit to be a U.S. Attorney.
Powell: The level of tariff increases announced so far is significantly larger than anticipated, and the same is likely to be true of the economic effects which will include higher inflation and slower growth.
We've reached the point where Republicans are flying to El Salvador to visit one of the most vicious prisons in the world to have photo ops so they can prove their loyalty to the President of the United States.
If the IRS deprives Harvard of its tax-exempt status, that's very bad for Harvard but it's also a catastrophe for the IRS. Instead of a neutral agency that enforces tax law, it will become a tool of partisan warfare. It may never recover.
Republicans are praising President Trump's executive order that bypasses Congress to change election laws and restrict ballot access.
The GOP had a completely different reaction to President Biden's 2021 order expanding voter registration. www.democracydocket.com/analysis/gop...
If they had any evidence of either, they would not have needed to kidnap him, traffic him to a foreign prison, and do everything possible to deny him due process.
There's no evidence he has committed any crime or has any affiliation with any gang.
Literally none.
Hence their actions.
Tricia McLaughlin @TriciaOhio 1. When Garcia was arrested he was found with rolls of cash and drugs. 2. He was arrested with two other members of MS-13. 3. Two judges found that he was a member of MS-13. That finding has not been disturbed. 4. When arrested he was wearing what is effectively MS-13’s uniform.
The DHS spokesperson is now alleging that Mr. Abrego Garcia was arrested with "rolls of cash and drugs" and was "wearing what is effectively an MS-13 uniform" (Chicago Bulls gear). But:
1) He was arrested for loitering and not charged for anything
2) PGPD previously said they had no incident report
yes! this dude will back down to anyone who tells him to fuck himself! this is the only response worth having!
