I’ve seen a lot of slightly wrong ideas about Texas Tech on here. What people need to understand is that this is an R1 public university, not a random rural technical college. This is an experiment to see how far policies can be pushed, and then replicated nationally at similar institutions.

Texas Tech System cancels programs focused on gender, orientation Chancellor Brandon Creighton directed provosts to phase out the programs and ordered universities to recognize only “two human sexes.”

TTU just released a memo institutionalizing censorship. As a grad student researching gender minority mental health and suicide prevention at TTU, I see this as an attack on academic integrity & professional readiness. Sharing some/a lot of thoughts as I make sense of this mess🧵(opinions my own)
