Cuts can happen organically w/tech solutions like online platforms for the public. But I'm always skeptical of across the board cuts w/out the solutions to support them. Employees want efficiency, too, but the tools must come first. Cutting as a first resort is a bad idea for public & for workers.

This patch of concrete with zero infrastructure is set to receive $200 million of federal financing. This is subsidiary farming at its worse. It should be a scandal.
Yep. Example; if you get sexually harassed at work in the UK, your three realistic options are endure, find another job or quit.
* If you endure it can cause psychological problems.
* Job hunting can take months.
* Quitting makes you ineligible for benefits.
UBI would resolve this.
It won't work. He'll just want them to give him more stupid shit.
A photorealistic mask of Clara Peller, the woman who shouted "Where's the Beef?" in old Wendy's commercials. The mask features her wavy grey hair and a string of pearls. The eyes are cut out, giving an incredibly unsettling appearance
Just so everyone is aware, as a promotion in 1984, Wendy's produced terrifying, photorealistic carboard masks of Clara Peller, aka the "Where's the Beef?" lady
Peter MacLeod suggests the best thing we can do to protect CBC & independent media from a govt party that would threaten its defunding is to do what Norway does & not keep it reliant upon annual appropriations from Parliament, but rather to create independent media trusts that could be topped up.
I'm waiting for the perv contact lenses.
Around the 15:39 mark, Heather McPherson remarks on the job cuts and four-day back-to-office mandate from the federal government.
For decades, government has chipped away at the public service. Now you wait on hold for hours hoping to speak to someone who can help only to get disconnected.
Instead of fixing this problem, this government is making it worse.

This is happening in NS, too. So we have a province who's broke and spending more money leasing more space. Make it make sense. That said, the solution is not hybrid and unassigned seating: it's hybrid and shared, assigned seating. If it's unassigned why make anyone go in? How do you collaborate?
Doug Ford, to students: "money doesn't go on trees!"
Doug Ford, for himself: uses your tax dollars to buy himself a private jet.
Can we stop pretending Premier "God bless the Westons" cares about everyday people in Ontario?
This story is a microcosm of what the UCP has become under Premier Danielle Smith's regime. @matthewblack.ca deserves the public's thanks for pursuing records that the UCP govt had absolutely no legal reason to withhold. Evidence of Smith's growing authoritarianism is on full display here.
I’m sure that patients stuck in hospital hallways without beds, waiting dangerously long for surgeries, are relieved that our Premier has a private jet.

MONTREAL – Air Canada says it is suspending flights to New York City’s JFK airport from Toronto and Montreal between June and October due to high fuel prices.
I wonder why there isn't? Should there be? I don't know.
What if he's diagnosed with a specific type of Dementia? Does this count?
Was just asked about this on
radio and I brought up that as Canadians we watched our American neighbours boil like frogs in a pot of authoritarianism for a decade. We must see the signs and rise up to protect our democracy now before its too late 🇨🇦 #Onpoli #Cndpoli #Ableg @lukaszukab.bsky.social
