Cuts can happen organically w/tech solutions like online platforms for the public. But I'm always skeptical of across the board cuts w/out the solutions to support them. Employees want efficiency, too, but the tools must come first. Cutting as a first resort is a bad idea for public & for workers.

Yep. Example; if you get sexually harassed at work in the UK, your three realistic options are endure, find another job or quit.

* If you endure it can cause psychological problems.
* Job hunting can take months.
* Quitting makes you ineligible for benefits.

UBI would resolve this.

Peter MacLeod suggests the best thing we can do to protect CBC & independent media from a govt party that would threaten its defunding is to do what Norway does & not keep it reliant upon annual appropriations from Parliament, but rather to create independent media trusts that could be topped up.

For decades, government has chipped away at the public service. Now you wait on hold for hours hoping to speak to someone who can help only to get disconnected.
Instead of fixing this problem, this government is making it worse.

This is happening in NS, too. So we have a province who's broke and spending more money leasing more space. Make it make sense. That said, the solution is not hybrid and unassigned seating: it's hybrid and shared, assigned seating. If it's unassigned why make anyone go in? How do you collaborate?

Ontario buys used $28.9M private jet for Doug Ford: sources A senior official confirmed that the province this week took possession of a 2016 Bombardier Challenger 650 executive jet.

Doug Ford, to students: "money doesn't go on trees!"

Doug Ford, for himself: uses your tax dollars to buy himself a private jet.

Can we stop pretending Premier "God bless the Westons" cares about everyday people in Ontario?

This story is a microcosm of what the UCP has become under Premier Danielle Smith's regime. @matthewblack.ca deserves the public's thanks for pursuing records that the UCP govt had absolutely no legal reason to withhold. Evidence of Smith's growing authoritarianism is on full display here.
