Here is the report: “Traffic safety has emerged as the top public safety concern among Seattle residents, according to new survey results released by Seattle University. This comes as pedestrian deaths continue to rise”

Tired of these Republicans in robes running roughshod over the judicial branch. No tinkering around the edges — court reform means expanding the court at a minimum.
there is literally one proven policy to reduce traffic congestion long-term.
it’s congestion pricing. and Trump just spent a whole year trying to illegally scrap it in New York City

Interview
@joshholland.bsky.social and I just talked with Joel Moreno at KOMO news about Vision Zero. With 27 people killed on our streets last year, 18 of whom were walking, it’s no surprise that Seattleites are saying traffic safety is a top concern that must be prioritized
person a: I've got 2 words for you: retractable bollards person b: oh god yes
🥵
long tail
box bike
Yes, AND I'd love to see Gazelle expand their catalogue in the US to include the Longtails and Box bikes they sell in the EU
Great, another thing Trump has messed up. If you want a high-end cargo bike visit Dandelion Bikes and get one while you can: www.dandelion.bike
Pike Place Market just released new sales data for Feb 2026. Looks like Jan+Feb 2026 had 11% higher sales than Jan+Feb 2025 (before the pedestrian pilot)! Congrats Seattle, you managed to find a way to shop at the market in the dead of winter without driving your cars through the middle of it.
😩🤬🚌 🔜 😍😎😄🚌
Thanks! Will look into these
Huge turnout of 250+ people at a rally and march to demand Sound Transit build light rail to Ballard as promised in the voter-approved ST3 ballot measure.
I think chaotic good would be parking in a way to create a curb bulb even when it’s not designated as such… maybe it’s worth doing the whole alignment chart with Lime parking…
It’s classified as a sit down scooter? Definitely not powerful enough to be a motorcycle. They are quite nice for people who don’t want to bike (and safer than the stand up scooters IMO)
Lime glider parked in a autozone parking space
I can respect the boldness of this “chaotic neutral” Lime Glider parking job
This is the kind of set up we’re looking for
@masonthompson.bsky.social how is your pedestrian Main Street doing these days?
😬looks a bit harrowing to get there.
Yeah! @alkistu.bsky.social is rocking this project. Can’t wait
Yeah most parks can work if you are willing to do that, but looking for food/drink service. They do have a nice, but minimal, little cafe there now
It’s that time of year again when I search in vain for a family-friendly outdoor venue like this. Any new recommendations?
two kids, one pushing a bike, on a woonerf in Haarlem. grown ups sitting at a bar.
We should redesign cities for autonomous kids, not autonomous cars.
Blocking curb ramps
Not blocking
I expect better Capitol Hill. Don’t park 🛴 in curb ramps they block 👨🦽➡️👩🏻🦯. I took 60 seconds and made it a bit better
The lights are timed for 20MPH southbound I believe (mainly to keep car traffic moving tbh), so it’s definitely more optimized for one direction of travel (4th is the same northbound)
They definitely have over the years, and you can get a pretty decent one for $1,500 these days which is kind of wild
Love that! E-bikes are absolutely a game changer for hills, getting older, and those of us who just like to get places without getting sweaty in the summer. And they are getting better and a better value every year!
Shout out to my haters 😆.
But in all seriousness, 2024 scientific polling by EMC Research (before the last transportation levy) found 23% of Seattle voters do NOT want to improve walking, biking, and transit in Seattle. Which isn't a lot electorally speaking, but that's still a lot of commenters!
it is cool!
Yeah the 1970s were a when Seattle was just starting to build some bike infrastructure. We had a transformational mayor Wes Uhlman who did a lot of progressive things (then we didn't do much for the next 30 years)
Good luck with Mayor Wu! Boston is a beautiful city
