I am happy it exists but some fundamental aspects of how it was designed to function and a frankly a user base that doesn't want a lot of people there just doesn't make it a very friendly place overall, and this is from someone who tried very hard to make it work and was a part of a nice instance

the hill i will die on is that Big Data, in all its forms, is just not useful and can't really be used to make something profitable. its expensive to store, full to the brim with noise, and trying to predict human behavior with it on anything other than a minuscule short timescale is impossible

something i think about a lot is most of the current landscape of the online ecosystem was predicated on the idea that Big Data was the next oil. every major tech trend of the last 18 years has been trying to prove that gobs of data collection of human behavior is a valuable resource & its just not

people were willing to pay for a premium version of your site!! you could have had a real actual regular revenue. its not too late!!!

bsky had an enormous amount of good will post 2024 election and became an actual viable product that otherwise was doomed to collapse with NFTs and the blockchain only to, at the first chance, rapidly start burning through it by jumping on the knife for another unpopular unprofitable tech trend

This is really just for me but I love doing cute branded packaging for my in person physical badge stuff lol

the real advice that sounds like it shouldn't work but sometimes does is go "I will try and draw for 10 minutes, and if I still don't want to do it I will stop" and often times you do stop, but sometimes its enough time to get you into the flow and you actually draw!!!
