I still feel rather clumsy when making art digitally, but I did take part in an art challenge with a digital piece (❁´◡`❁)

After a while of drawing minis I got hungry for more complexity, and started drawing with more dramatic perspective and more elements in the same picture, as well as trying different lighting ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

By this time I had found a webshop selling Japanese art books, and got my first few, including one about drawing chibis, or minis, as they're called in Japan. Drawing minis felt fulfilling because I could draw a full body, even if deformed!

For a long time I didn't color any of my drawings, because I didn't feel confident enough to try. I think this Miku is the first one with full colors!

At some point I realized I actually really like drawing different facial expressions, and tried to keep a habit of drawing different heads daily (emphasis on the word "tried") ( *︾▽︾)

Around this time I also started using posing apps to help with understanding the perspective of a specific pose. I still sometimes check anatomy this way!

At some point I got frustrated with hitting a plateau with my progress, so I switched over to only drawing with a ballpoint pen in a smaller sketcbook. This worked really well in helping me make more confident lines ( ̄︶ ̄)

I started experimenting very fast with trying to draw chibis, but I never really liked how they looked. Some times I took inspiration from manhwas I encountered on the web.

This is where my art journey re-started, way back in 2020; Akihito Yoshitomi's head drawing tutorial and random, bald heads (´▽`) I did draw as a child and teen, but I lost the spark for many years until the pand3mic hit
