french critics on the lack of molestation in the michael jackson movie:
there's only one Columbo. you people are playing with fire
FULL ETHICAL DISCLOSURE: she is NOT a Bond head!
even were this so liking the hits is still liking Queen
you're gonna have to give him a moment, son. Michael Jackson has to think about not quite all of his entire life before he plays...
Goldie Hawn also seems very fond of him
the cover of a self-published ebook entitled I Masturbate Beside My Wife: Memoirs of an Invisible Man by George E. Veil ... not the source material for the John Carpenter/Chevy Chase film as far as I am aware
hm
I didn't know he had such a strong/long-lasting marriage. that's nice
so is Memoirs of an Invisible Man for that matter, I don't care what the relative status of his cocaine addiction was at the time
one of the highlights of the movie so far. I love how he says that and then immediately realizes he has gone too far so he pivots to saying he "can be hurt easily"
finally watching the Chevy Chase doc, it's awesome because so many of the people interviewed hate him but I'm pissed off they mention Under the Rainbow in passing and then act like Funny Farm is a bad movie + the beginning of his decline. Funny Farm is fckn Barry Lyndon compared to Under the Rainbow
the best personal discovery I've made in my ongoing exploration of European comics is the work of Philippe Druillet ... wild stuff man

I think people tend to overestimate the value of surprise when they watch films they like but it would be cool to watch Yakuza Apocalypse again not knowing what it's actually about
I was 14 and psyched for a water park trip because I thought a girl (the mini golf photo girl actually) was going to be all over me, I was envisioning tandem inner tube hijinks and whatnot. but she ignored me the whole trip and I remember floating sadly down the lazy river while this song played
do you know my water park story involving that song
whoever wrote this is an unsung comic genius. this is so much funnier than anything that happens in the movie. I wish I had come up with this
they're calling it the most obviously true piece of IMDb trivia ever posted
I'm in the minority here I think but I was always resistant to the idea that it was supposed to be one giant movie since the two parts feel so discrete, and I still felt that way watching the combined version. definitely worth watching though
the future of shit!
sometimes a movie goes beyond problematic and becomes just a problem
I wish I was watching it right now
watching Under the Rainbow ... not good
Farber is the GOAT
I hate it when I read a Letterboxd review and it seems like the writer was spending their entire time with the movie thinking of things to point out in their Letterboxd review
Unknown Soldier 268 (1355)
huge movie for me and everyone else in my hometown at the time because it gets mentioned prominently in the dialogue ... I should watch it again
I mean yeah it's a great song but it is one that has slipped into the mainstream adult alternative rotation. I hear 40 hours of Bob.FM a week and I can attest to this
you ain't kidding!
