For a moment my house feels complete again & his younger siblings & all our pets were so happy to have him back. So tonight I’m making his requested favorites: banana bread, chicken enchiladas, tomato mozzarella salad, & chocolate cake.

My oldest started college this week. Last week he moved into the dorm. Thankfully he’s only about an hour away & my husband works on campus. Earlier this week he begged to come home for the weekend & he missed my cooking. My husband brought him home this morning after work.

So thankful these foster babies are thriving. We’ve had them almost 3 weeks and they’ve doubled in size, can use a litter box in their own, and are eating solids. They love playing with our resident cats and being the sweetest, silliest goofballs. #AdoptDontShop #FosterCats

All 3 of my kids are on a 3 day theater trip. They’ve only been gone 4 hours… and I miss them. My oldest keeps texting me the most random things & I love it. When he’s at college next year, it’s gonna be tough.

Jay’s post op was today. Drains are out & he can shower in about 48hrs. I’ll never forget the nurse removing the bandages & Jay just staring down at his chest, seeing it for the first time. “It’s so flat!” The grin on his face. I’m so thankful we were able to accomplish this.

My husband said the hardest part for him right now is seeing me close to tears every time he looks at me. And I am. Tears of anger and sorrow and fear. So many are going to suffer.

I have raised 3 very strong willed, highly educated, outspoken children with strong morals and integrity. And I’m scared for them. I’m scared for all of us.

I fear for our future like never before. As California burns and a polar vortex settles on a large swath of our country, Trump is once again pulling out of the Paris climate agreement. As bird flu becomes an ever greater danger, Trump has removed the US from the World Health Organization.

Today, we attended a Martin Luther King Jr celebration where Jay won 2nd place for his art. As I sat there, listening to school kids sing songs about Hope, dreams for a better future, and kindness, the juxtaposition of the inauguration just hours before was evident on my mind.

One week ago, Jay had just arrived home from top surgery. We were tired from a long day, but so thankful and relieved his surgery was complete.

That would be a CAT in the passenger seat. You’d think my autocorrect would know I talk about cats more than cars.

Sir Zipper went to pick up A from school so then we got @dutchbroscoffee.bsky.social and he got his first pupcup. The baristas were very surprised to see a car in the passenger seat.

Sassy went to the vet today for a lump on her neck. Thankfully the biopsy showed it’s just inflammation caused by her collar rubbing. She loves the vet, except when there’s needles involved.
