Break it, then privatize it. Building up private U.S. forecasting ability to current NWS levels after such a ruthless and foolish decimation of the NWS will take many years. Billions in costs will occur that would have been avoided had we kept the NWS intact, and many avoidable deaths will occur.
My grandfather was a Japanese linguist for the US Army in WWII. He translated intercepted Japanese military communications for the US military.
Sadly, some military web sites describing the contributions of his and other similar units to the war effort appear to have vanished off the web. 🧵
The administration is removing phone support for Soc Security recipients. Making it more difficult for seniors to get their checks. It’s a back door way to cut SS benefits. Horrific.

A tornado outbreak - Level 5-High risk is expected tomorrow (Saturday March 15) across parts of MS/AL. Strong to violent, long-track tornadoes will be possible, in addition to significant damaging gusts and large hail. Intense storms are possible across the broader region from LA to TN to GA.
