Isn’t one of the obvious lessons that there should be no politically appointed ambassadors. Just let the civil service do its job (as it was doing fine before Gov screwed it up for no good reason).

I think Apple Silicon, with its unified memory architecture, will turn out to be one of the most profitable business decisions ever made.

Right now I’d settle for just being able to get the NHS to tell me the value of my pension without having to complete and post a paper form and either (a) waiting 3+ months or (b) paying over £400 and waiting _only_ 8 weeks.

Little 🧵 on vetting:

There’s been a certain amount of chest-puffing from former holders of DV clearance about how rigorous and exacting the vetting process is and how rare for it to be overruled. The latter is definitely true. Never heard of it happening, ever.

While I know really young people are few and far between on Bluesky, I’d still like to talk to an under-25 who’s been looking for (or found) a job and AI was part of the recruitment process.

DMs are open if you know someone and they can talk, incl anonymously!

An image showing two YouTube embeds. One labeled "Section 230 Explained: A brief overview of Section 230 and why it matters" and the other saying "The Future of Content Moderation: Keynote on the challenges facing platforms." Both videos show "video unavailable" with a "watch on YouTube" link.

CLAUDE CODE JUST RICKROLLED ME. I'm working on a project where part of it will involve videos, and in building out the project it created a dummy page, with made up content (relevant to me!) with two video links pretending to be something else and BOTH WERE RICKROLLs.

Omniboz: Tales from the Land of Oz by Stars and Sabers Publishing - Indiegogo An anthology of short stories inspired by L. Frank Baum’s original Oz books, written by wonderful writers from around the world and edited by author Jendia Gammon and author and agent Ernie Chiara.

Still on the backer train for Omniboz - really hoping it makes it as this has one of my weirdest and most grotesque stories ever. www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/...

Also, it depends what your definition of “wrong” is. Perfectly reasonable to argue that AI stock prices are wrong (no way they have the collective value their price implies). But not necessarily irrational if you believe there’s a large kernel of value only 1-2 will retain when the bubble bursts.
