Imo deep rock galactic has a substantially less toxic online experience than its contemporaries because there is a button that lets you go “hell yeah”. I try not to invest too much into one weird tricks but I think it’s harder to get mad at strangers when they’re always saluting each other and you

A lot of great games have come out -- but who has the time or the money for them? Here are some of the demos that you can download know if you want a free taste.

These are demos for games already out and you might have missed.

Games are a unique art form. They are direct instructions, with an audience primed to follow them. They are unlike music. Unlike graphic arts. Unlike fiction.

Game design is about how instructions focus us, inspire us, outrage us, motivate us, reveal us, help us connect to each other.

I’m putting together my syllabi for next semester and I think I’m going to take this off my reading list, which breaks my heart. I’m at least buoyed by the fact that it’s been making the rounds again. Please do yourself a favor and read it, even if no one has assigned it to you.

After emerging from the far side of the moon, the Artemis II astronauts witnessed something few have ever experienced—a total solar eclipse in space.

So sorry to hear it, Davey. A really talented group, and I hope everybody lands on their feet.

What football will look like in the future Something is terribly wrong. Something is terribly wrong. Something is terribly wrong. Something is terribly wrong.

We all seem to have forgotten one of the most truly delightful and surprising indie interactive fiction drops of the last decade.

17776 is ostensibly about football, which is why at first glance I thought I wouldn't like it. But it really makes me smile, and the world could use that right now.

I've lost 4 friends to suicide and other friends to health conditions. My first experience losing a friend was when my best friend died when i was 7 due to a heart condition. What I have learned is I'll never wait to tell someone something kind, because you may not get another chance to say it.

Me: Oh, I love when previous students reach out to give me career updates about things they are proud of!

Also Me: Nah, I shouldn't messaged the people who helped me with an update. I don't want to bother them, they are busy and I don't want to be annoying

2–as a value for either a cost input or effect output—is not 1 more than 1, it is twice as much.

One of the *magic* things you can do with a gameplay atom is recontextualize it.

Fire burns plants, but creates an updraft -- you must use this updraft to push a fan. Later you have to put out fire to *stop* the updraft to cross a room.

Remember all of those times you said you would pick up an indie game if it was on sale.

Now's that time.

Here's a list of solid titles you can pick up for less than 5 bucks.

Anyway, great job Inkle. If you want to buy and play and rate and review more indie games, this is a good place to start.

A major thematic reference is The Lady of Shalott by Tennyson, which I didn’t pick up on until the end because I’m not really familiar with the poem, but afterward I read it. It’s got a fun cadence that’s very hard not to read aloud, and my fiancée walked in on me murmuring poetry to myself.

The story worked for me about 75%. It’s got a lot of really cool stuff that maybe I can’t quite figure out exactly how it fits together, but the vibes are good. A couple great twists that I didn’t see coming (laudatory) and a couple little twists that I didn’t see coming (derogatory).

It’s a database narrative, too - more so than any game I’ve played since Her Story, I think. Interlinking information to point to new database entries is really important, and it does a good job of that, too, although there were a couple entries at the end that I just couldn’t find without a guide.
