i just want to make enough money from my art to pay my bills and take the occasional national parks road trip

For 2025 I don't want to chase specific art goals. I want to feel good about my work without having to get a certain level of expertise first. I think enjoying the process is more motivating than striving for this distant goal just to feel approved when I have reached it.

This 2025 stop calling yourself a "content creator"

You're an artist, graphic designer, a video editor, an entertainer, musician, a streamer, a cook, a craftsman, an animator, a storyteller, a writer, a painter, a woodworker, a tailor...

You are not a faceless "content" machine.

Artists are a big part of what makes your social media experience worth it. Most of them post incredible work out there for free (in this economy ??)

Remember to support your favorite creators so that they can keep making things you love. Seek out their patreon, shops, share their work.

Make art that you think is fuckin sick as hell. Make the shit you never thought you could that you always wanted to see. Beat your insecurity to death and fight to become your own favorite artist.

Reminder- using reference for art is NOT cheating. Depending on what type of artist you are, you should absolutely be using it. All highly skilled pro artists I know use it.

Art isn't a party trick, we don't have to be in the business of impressing ppl with the process. Don't hold yourself back.
