Since 1989, even. 2012 was just implementation of religious marriages, but civil unions (thus providing the same legal rights as to heterosexual couples) was 1989. :)

Post by Orla Joelsen, native Greenlander: Greenland is not "a poorly run piece of ice."
Greenland is far more than ice. It is a democratic society with free elections, rule of law, and a people who determine their own future.
We are not a talking point in someone's rhetoric. We are a people with dignity, history, and self-government under the kingdom of Denmark.

Once again on April 9th, we prepare to resist invasion from a fascist empire. This time, we have favourable terrain and allies.

Guys, the President was literally threatening to invade the territory of a NATO country earlier this year, to the point where they had to deploy troops to deter it. That has consequences.

Wish I could. :( but just writing a book is a major accomplishment many people think of doing, but few do.

Reliable media coverage seems very difficult to find these days, unfortunately.

Probably April's fools if anything. Greenland is in the Danish constitution; there's no mechanism by which it could be sold. It's nonsense.

Europe must be stronger and more independent from the US.
That’s the core message from French president, Emmanuel Macron and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in an interview with Danmarks Radio. 1/

Lol I have had the exact same frustration. Watched every adaptation I could find, nothing.

1/ Denmark was reportedly preparing for full-scale war with the US over Greenland in January, with military support from France, Germany, and Nordic nations. Elite troops and F-35 jets with live ammunition were sent, and runways were to be blown up to prevent an invasion. ⬇️

They had special pow camps set up for Danish-speaking pows (Feltham in UK, Aurillac in France, two camps in Russia I cannot for the life of me spell). My great-grand ended up in Belle-Ile, though, but that was a camp set up for Alsacians, who also received special treatment from the French.

It's because about 26,000 soldiers were conscripted from the Danish minority in northern Germany; knowing many of them might end up in pow camps, the Danish Red Cross worked to ensure them better conditions and their survival through the war. Like my great-gramps. :)

Ah yes, that would definitely be it, then. My own great-grandfather was likewise released from French captivity in the spring of 1919; took a while to organise it all.

Couple of reasons. Sometimes, pow's fled Germany to Denmark, where they were held as military refugees. Or at the end of the war, lots of pow's were transported through Denmark from the German camps.

No American need be dissuaded from disgust because we killed 175 schoolgirls in a wartime airstrike gone awry. But this isn't our worst in Iran. For those who don't remember, google Flight 655 and July 3, 1988. That was 290 innocent people. There was no war. And our president refused to apologize.

I imagine the buffet is from what Swedish calls "smörgåsbord", a table full of small dishes, and which in English became the word smorgasbord. An adjustable spanner is also a Swedish key in Danish :)

Oh we also call the second one "french"! But we got no name for the first type, it's just a hot dog. Interesting that we've managed to claim credit for it though. It is the normal type of streetfood here, so I guess it got associated with us, even if it originated from elsewhere.

We make an exception for hotdogs, but nothing else

Very true. I keep seeing posts about how the people of Greenland is being ignored in this conflict, this is neocolonialism etc. Few seem to realise Greenland's government is fully involved in everything, and they got decision making power too.

Sunday, Trump's concept of a plan for a Greenland invasion suffered another setback.

Not only has Denmark sent ships and fighter jets and special forces troops — Aragorn just arrived in Nuuk.

Your move, Sauron.
