COVID Is 'Still a Pandemic,' WHO Leader Says The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, according to one of the World Health Organization’s leading infectious disease experts

It's stunning that the technical leader of the World Health Organization's COVID-19 response, Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, publically reaffirmed that COVID-19 is still a global health threat and still a pandemic, yet hardly any media outlet has covered this except for this one.

The next week will see the second-highest COVID levels of the pandemic so far. If you are sick, please stay home if you can. If you have to go into work, please wear an N95 mask to protect others. If you are an employer or political leader, please increase paid sick days.

I occasionally photograph sketches using a good DSLR - it can be hard to get the exact right angle but it's possible, and in good (soft) light too, it can work :)

Hey illustrators and designers, I’m looking to refresh my list of go-to hand lettering artists. If you’re interested in the idea of hand lettering the title of a children’s book, reply here with relevant samples. Please no emails or direct messages on other platforms. 💙❤️

A mixed media illustration by Lizzy Doe featuring a cyclist on a pale stone bridge over the river Cam in Cambridge. The Bridge of Sighs is visible in the background and trees frame the view, with autumn leaves floating down all around.

Friendly reminder that wearing a mask is still solidarity with disabled people and the working class.

@benbarclay.bsky.social Btw hi/hola - I found you randomly on twitter a while back as you're posting on some of my specific areas of interest - Granada (!), ecology/climate, and also being covid aware. So hi. Dreaming of moving to Granada one day if we find a way. Best wishes from Cambridge 🙂

Maybe you have already, but try changing your lightbulbs to either daylight or warm, depending on what makes you feel better! Also - I just try to get outdoors as much as pos....& try to do "autumnal" things to embrace the changes a little. Solidarity from me x
