Actually the "Ananke" one, not "The Inquest", sorry :)

"The Inquest" from the Tales of Pilot Pirx by Stanislaw Lem has a beautiful deep dive into the Mars channels discovery that this bluesky tweet is too short to fit. Highly recommend.
Yay, the next book in the series!!

A tweet by @Llama In a Tux (dated Sep. 10, 2022): Don't you understand? The human race IS an endless number of monkeys. And every day we produce an endless number of words. And one of us already wrote Hamlet
I made it my life mission to reference this as many times as I can
I keep screaming from the rooftops that print news is the future and we better start figuring out what that looks like, and literally no one in the news industry believes me.
"I'm just contemplating the fact that one moron, one psychotic moron, one capricious idiot, has completely bollocksed up the global economy not only to the detriment of his own people, but the detriment of the planet. ... It's like how much more of this can the planet take?"

The “Calvin’s dad explains two types” meme, inspired by a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. Clockwise from top left: 1) Calvin’s dad walks into frame to find Calvin trying to operate a record player. The dad says: “There are only two industries left in America: gambling, and fraud.” 2) The dad shows where the record goes, and how to turn on the player, while Calvin watches. Dad says “Derivatives? Gambling. AI? Fraud. Video games? Gambling. Social media? Fraud.” Calvin says “yeah”. 3) With one hand open palm up, Calvin’s dad cheerfully explains to Calvin out of frame below him, “The stock market looks like gambling, but it’s actually fraud.” 4) In bed in a dark room, Calvin clutches at his pillow, eyes wide in existential terror. There is no text in the panel.

What I like best about the Artemis II photos is that it was taken by actual humans. An actual person had to frame it and manually adjust settings. It's their own artistic rendition of what they thought looked best at the time, something no probe, rover or unmanned spacecraft can take. it's art
We thought we were living in a cyberpunk dystopia but this is actually straight from Warhammer 40K. The machine spirit must be appeased using the proper rituals. Blessings affixed with purity seals will keep the cogitator functioning.
Incredible that human beings figured out how to do this. How cool. What if we only did cool stuff
Funding NASA is funding this planet‘s near and long-term health. You think solar power just appeared? GPS? Weather prediction? Battery tech? Most aspects of the microcontroller? Velcro? Space sciences are planetary sciences!

Looking through one of the four windows of the Orion spacecraft, a tiny crescent Earth is illuminated against the blackness of space and grows smaller as the crew journeys closer to the Moon. Part of the window edge is visible; the rest is darkness. [Alt-text slightly revised from ESA/NASA version]
