dang, that XX is looking nice - great exposure! it sounds like it's less forgiving than other Kodak B&Ws. the look reminds me of Tri-X with more softness or glow in the bright tones.

it's funny how those first-gen mid-90's CR-Vs looked just like a vertically-stretched version of my first car, a 1984 Honda Civic "wagovan" (mine was silver)

i will risk my non-existent game industry credibility to say that Disco Elysium was good but not great. the excellent writing and art style were constantly straining against and dampened by game mechanics, including the RNG. ultimately, i found the story compelling until the "that's it?!" ending.

i think i'm hooked on this stuff after one roll - look at that mellow palette! the 500T needed minor correction for shooting in daylight (plus major shifts with clouds), but otherwise these are just linear tone adjustments.

the industry shifted hard from rap being real talk & party music to glorifying crime & materialism. they didn't actually need to increase crime rates, they just had to increase fear enough to get funding and increase convictions.

the front of the Phaeton with it's thin vertical grille painted turquoise and round headlights mounted on chrome suspension parts. overhead is a bright cloudy sky with a blue cast.

this Svema is an odd Ukrainian film loaded by FPP. it has a nice low-contrast palette for vintage cars; i want more, though it comes a bit dusty.

phew, though... it's some work to color balance shots on new film of a flat grey car sandwiched between a hazy overcast blue sky and green grass.

i'm curious how it will look with a flash. maybe daylight flat at full power, so reduce it for this look?

re: the Vision3, this is my first roll but i really like it and will try the other types. i also haven't shot film in >20 years and don't regret going digital - dynamic ISO & white balance! but, this has been a nice way to slow down, think about tonal composition, and have fun with gear & stocks.

this chain always has these fun and distinctive buildings with nice midcentury vibes that don't feel kitschy. they definitely found a good architectural firm, heh.

sure! this is just a film & digitizing test i shot out of a car window; if i was going for maximum quality i'd have shot off a tripod with a remote release and locked-up mirror (and used my spot meter).

the ends of two stacks of k-rails meet to form an inside corner under a cloudy sky. the middle rail near the top of the left stack has "BOR" visible in red spraypaint. the ground is tan gravel with patches of dark brown.

a square white fuel truck drives into a construction yard next to a road. the entrance is flanked by chain-link fences topped with barbed wire; the driveway is brown dirt and gravel, and patchy clouds and blue skies are overhead.

a closer look at the tree in between the stacks as they cast a rectangular shadow on the pale tan gravel.

mmm, the muted colors & gentle tones don't push a focal point based on high contrast or punch, but help your eye wander around the image to take it all in.

and, of course, the period look: Vision3 transports these K-rails into a 70's or 80's crime drama. anyone scouting for Mann or Frankenheimer?
