At this point I don't think I'd trust Starmer to lead someone to the fruit and veg in a supermarket, nevermind lead the government.

Only stuff I've seen so far is Greens and some unhinged Christian nationalist party that reminded me of Norsefire.
Turns out I'm not going to see Akira in 4K at the cinema because there's a problem with the projector so the screening has been cancelled.
Manager at Vue gave us a refund and a free ticket for another film for the inconvenience. #Filmsky

WHY DID BBC BREAKFAST GIVE REFORM UK A SPECIAL GRAPHIC?
A small detail in a brief report sparks some big questions about what the national broadcaster is doing during the run up to local and national elections.

Not far in to Joe Dunthorne's Children of Radium.
Just read about Oranienburg, a German town with hundreds of WWII bombs with defective delayed fuses buried in the ground.
In 2013 a local man came back from walking his dog and discovered his house replaced with a crater. #Booksky 📚
Court of the Dead is very well produced. The box art is by Alex Horley.
I've only played it once and can't remember anything about it though. #boardgamesky
Samara Weaving as a getaway driver in an interesting twist on the heist film, how did I not know about this? This was a fun time.
Someone I know said this how the BBC are dealing with imminent funding cuts, they were joking, but this is not going to help the BBC at all.
It's absolutely insane that calling out lies is seen as more of a scandal than the actual lies. The entire system operates under the notion that everyone within it is acting with the best of intentions and nobody would ever intentionally do anything bad or wrong.
Going to see a screening of Akira in 4K tomorrow. 👍
Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.
A picture from The Hobbit showing Bilbo with pointed ears and various dwarves - noted enemies of the elves. The caption reads: "Characters playing elves in the fantasy film The Hobbit: An unexpected journey (2012) wore prosthetic ears.
I was discussing the concept of mise en scene with someone and I couldn't remember the precise definition so I looked it up. I ended up on the BBC GCSE Bitesize website and found this picture. The error in the caption could start entire WARS.
Thinking of that period as far back as the 1980s when media studies courses were routinely dismissed as ‘Mickey Mouse degrees’. Particularly and specifically by media outlets, curiously enough.
One of the most distracting things about The Killer on Netflix is Sam Worthington's Irish accent. #Filmsky
My experience is a lot of the MCU films are 3/5 films. The kind of thing you watch once and don't watch again. The second GOTG seemed distinctly underwhelming to me. I saw it in the cinema and remember I was checking my watch.
Captain Marvel had some cool bits, but was generally pretty unengaging.
7 player Sidereal Confluence. We needed to get another table to add on to our already big table it takes up so much space.
Played 7 player Sidereal Confluence today.
A sort of absurd sci-fi trading game with some brilliant tech jargon and lots and lots of cubes.
My initial faction was so complex it made my head hurt so swapped for another. #boardgamesky
Fwiw.
The Prime Minister should have resigned when House of Commons voted that he (and his cabinet) could not be trusted with "national security" decisions on the release of the Mandelson papers.
If House of Commons has no confidence in a PM to do that, they have no real confidence in PM at all.
What I find really interesting about this from @jim.londoncentric.media on Greggs and shoplifting is the Greggs where I am have locks on their fridges to deal with this problem. Anyone wanting something has to request it.
Clearly they don't do this in all the branches.
Today's jam is Chelsea Wolfe - House of Self-Undoing. The juxtaposition of the ethereal vocals and the urgent percussive rumble of the music is perfection.
The Law According to Lidia Poet. A period drama but importantly not set in England, so it's not dull, grey and miserable. Vibrant amazing costumes, fantastic moustaches, it's a bit horny and there's a great balance between drama and comedy.
Sure I read somewhere that at one point betting shops weren't allowed displays that were visible from the street. Persistent lobbying over legislation and throwing money at successive governments lead to today's hellscape of massive digital billboards in betting shop windows.
One of the early releases from Manga Entertainment in the UK. Akira featured in the classic sizzle reel intro montage on all their releases.
I think everyone needs to know the third season of The Law According to Lidia Poët is on Netflix.
There's amazing costumes, some great comedy beats, some fantastic moustaches, everyone is hot and it's a bit horny too.
The lads I just saw bombing it down the road in town on e-scooters going at 'blink and you'll miss it' speed are are definitely not going to potentially seriously injure themselves or someone else at all. Totally fine.
Same. Pensions now very much have the vibe of ''Well, you'll! probably die before you can claim it so don't worry'.
This idea that the gambling industry is some sort of benevolent organisation spreading joy throughout the land is the direct result of decades of lobbying governments and throwing money at them.
A pile of fly tipped rubbish next to a tree.
Fly tipping is a blight. This appeared about a week ago. Not even hidden, it's on the grass verge next to a busy road.
So I see. I suppose $17,000 a month is less than your passive income when you're mega rich.
Wonder what the service charge is on this, or do they not have those?
I'd want extensive maintenance records for the lifts too. A friend got a top floor apartment then the lift broke down and didn't get fixed for 3-4 months.
