Inserting Ben Milton's dungeon 'The Alchemist's Repose' into #Dolmenwood as a precursor to Dolmenwood's own 'The Fungus That Came To Blackeswell'. Clockwork automatons make it a natural fit. Here's how I intend to do it: www.mild-peril.co.uk/dungeon-jam

John Boorman on Excalibur: “If you stand outside the film it looks ridiculous. You have to enter and be overwhelmed by it.” A perhaps only slightly coherent combo review from my last three viewings of this masterpiece: letterboxd.com/mild_peril/f...

And here's a nice comment from Bandcamp: "Unsurprisingly addictive and repeatable! The entrancing tunes are immersive enough one can easily lose awareness of their space."

The Falling Official UK Trailer (2015) - Maisie Williams Mystery Movie HD
The Falling Official UK Trailer (2015) - Maisie Williams Mystery Movie HD YouTube video by Rotten Tomatoes Indie

This is a Good Trailer, i.e. it shows you what the film is like but reveals nothing: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJD8...

I watched one of my favourite films, 'The Falling' last week. It has an appalling rating on Letterboxd so I felt I should put some time into getting my thoughts down. Unfortunately this will do nothing to counteract the one-star-one-line reviews of Florence Pugh fans. letterboxd.com/mild_peril/f...

From my dream diary: recruited to be a secret agent, investigating a 17th century pub that had appeared out of nowhere, asked what a ladle was, I replied that it was the only method of defeating Cthulhu, I was par of a 90s demoscene crew, I was working with the Future Sound of London.

A ★★ review of Doctor Who: Attack of the Cybermen (1985) I skipped over the Twin Dilemma as it was atrocious, especially following Caves of Androzani which might as well have been from a completely different television program. This however is pretty standa...

I thought I had reviewed it but turns out I just made reference to the fact that I’d skipped it in the review of the next one!

Just finished The Mysterious Planet which was surprisingly good but then it’s a Robert Holmes script.

Today I ‘cracked’ Johnny Mnemonic. If you go into it & just treat the oddities as part of its ‘style’, then it’s very easy to suddenly have a lot of fun with it.

It’s got something about it, Keanu Reeves is endearing, I love the CGI, & yes I still chuckled, but with it, not at it.

Beyond Synth - 421 - Mild Peril Beyond Synth · Episode

I was very happy to be on the long-running @beyondsynth.bsky.social podcast. Andy was even happier to find out I knew about classic Dr Who.

Viking graffiti found in Maes Howe burial chamber in Orkney:
• ‘Ingigerth is the most beautiful of all women.’
• ‘Tholfir Kolbeinsson carved these runes high up.’
• ‘These runes were carved by the man most skilled in runes in the western ocean.’

I was inspired recently to get hold of my favourite late night weirdo program from my teens - 'Lexx: The Dark Zone' (first series only, mind) was bonkers.

💀 BR△IN W△VES • 01.25 ~ A playlist of weird wave sounds selected during January. This is my kind of pop music. The excerpt over the video here is another one by (supposed) one hit wonder Desireless, author of the mighty ‘Voyage, Voyage’ from 1988.
