#10WeAdmire – Theodor Adorno (1903-1969) was born in 1903 in Frankfurt, growing up alongside the rampant embrace of nationalism in Germany during WWI. With both his mother and aunt working as singers, he became a classically trained musician, an identity that informed his later writings.

While separating himself from existentialism, he served as one of the leading intellectual voices of the Cold War era, with his philosophical inquiries translating to political expression in his collection of essays titled ‘The Rebel.’ His commitment to moral order continued until his death in 1946.
