When teaching kids who are riding with the saddle too low we udge the seat up a little bit at a time so they can adjust to how it feels. The difference in pedalling power can be significant, even with just a small adjustment.
I sometimes think a quick release seat post on my e-bike would be useful, for when I have a huge load of shopping on the back and need to balance the weight a bit more carefully.

I'm not sure if we're at cross-purposes.
The electric assist on EAPCs cuts out at 15.5mph.
The DVLA are saying that bikes with a so-called 'off road' mode (temporary increase in speed) do not comply with EAPC. So they're saying that the manufacturers are wrong.

Large pothole on a junction. It's impossible to avoid cycling over it because it's the whole width of the lane.
Long channel pothole, deep and with gravel in the bottom. Terrifying to cycle near it.
The great thing about cycling is that instead of just complaining about potholes, you can easily stop to take photos and report them.
It does, however, make your commute last 50 minutes instead of 15.

The NCN between Newcastle and the ferry terminal was like a roller coaster of deformed surfaces. There was literally nothing remotely as bad as that in NL.
There are more potholes within half a mile of my house than I encountered in 250km of cycling in the Netherlands.
(This is the result of a £2.2billion 25 year PFI highways contract that was supposed to get us "the best roads in Europe")

I can see that for boiling water to cook pasta etc, but to make a cup of tea an electric kettle plugged into full strength electricity is definitely quicker.

The other morning we found a snail half way up our front door. It would have been great to measure the snail's trail with a snail tape measure.
