I also wonder how it can open maths to more people. I have the feeling that the way maths are taught can exclude people who can have a different way of viewing things but who can nonetheless be great at maths

#EconSky AI is both terrifying for students since they can juste stop working and learn nothing if they let AI do the work but also amazing. It is a great teacher to expnain maths intuitions. I use it often to ask all the secret questions you never dare to ask and it given great intuitions

I understand the confidentiality issue but for papers which already have a public working paper I do not see the issue (ok I know in CS it is supposed to be double blind but still). Even adding a check by the authors while submitting can be a plus

Several foundational papers in theory are in OR or maths journals, Gale and Shapley is another exemple (but they probably did not try submitting to econ) and Myerson 1981 as well

France had a similar ruling for "vegetarian steaks" which can no longer be called steaks because of lobbying from the meat industry. But non alcoholic beer can still be called beer because these are the same companies making the alcoholic beers so hey 🤷♂️
