Only saw The Lion King (original of course, you couldn't pay me any sum to watch that CGI dross) last year and thought it was the most diet-diet-Shakespeare piece of storytelling imaginable, laborious to watch. Gave up about ten minutes before the end.

And aged and worn poster advertising Umberto the Unknowable and Miss Direction. The poster has a yellowing border with black and red art nouveau designs, in the center is a blue-ish square with a picture of a man with a pointy beard and mustache wearing a tuxedo and doing a trick with rings. Behind him to the right is a woman in a sexy, frilly outfit and long gloves gesturing seductively. At the top of the poster, a banner decorated with art nouveau leaves reads "Umberto the Unknowable and Miss Direction"

I wasn’t gonna be the girl in the box.
I told him straight off, first time I met him.

Egad! Genuinely some of the best news this year about next year.

Mortal Engines was a formative book for me, not just because of the whole "city-on-wheels" baseline, but for the way the estimable Philip Reeve writes his characters and world.

I am madly excited!

Back again to see The Fall at the BFI IMAX. Another spectacular last minute booking with a Q+& with the director Tarsem Singh!

It's rare enough to see a film like this here, rarer still to see it twice.

Well, this was all r splendid! Hats off to @johnkennard.co.uk for drawing me in and making me giggle/ grimace in equal measure, and @jrosereads.bsky.social for creeping me out. Kudos to @sameoldsatellite.bsky.social and @draeno.bsky.social for an excellently immersive experience. #pppp #audiodrama

That’s me, the editor! Let me tell you, this one was quite difficult to put together. Not only from a horror perspective, but it was also the most complex AD episode I’ve edited thus far. It’s also a cacophony at times, but it really needed to be due to the the story.

I also read all the credits!

Hey you! Something I wrote is out there in the world! Really honoured to have writ the first attraction for the Peculiar Panoply 😊

If you like monologues, mirror mazes, madness, mystery and other 'm' words, then go listen to this!

An antique and aged parchment map of the panoply-- a central striped tent with attractions and activity tents arranged around it in a circle. Each attraction is labeled with its name. At the righthand side of the map there is a skeleton, gesturing toward the center of the map. At the top is printed "Welcome Wanderers" and at the bottom, in a fancy scrollwork banner is printed "Professor Pandemonium's Peculiar Panoply"

Ooh, Danger Mouse too?

I tried to move everything out of it, but I could only copy it out, leading to more data being used, needlessly? I now have to sync 168GB of files before I can move them...

I had no issues with cloud storage, but now I'm starting to really despise this level of deception here.

I had no problem with OneDrive at all since I got it - now today I find that my entire local Documents folder on my computer has been moved to OneDrive WITHOUT consulting me or asking for my permission? At all?

I have sensitive money-related stuff in that folder that I do NOT want on cloud storage!

I make a point to wear bone conduction when I'm cycling and want to listen to music or when I don't want penetrative earbuds or pressure on my ears from headphones. It's a trade off but generally for earphones I couldn't give a shit if others could just be able to hear my music in public.

Did have a complaint one time on a quiet carriage whilst wearing bone conduction earphones. Wasn't even listening to very bass heavy or loud music so I'm kinda perplexed the woman across the aisle from me on opposite sides of the train could hear it. She was geriatric too, I was surprised.

This episode contains some of the hardest acting I've ever done.
Thanks, @ash-alder.bsky.social , for encouraging me WAY out of my comfort zone 😊

You can only call it radio drama if it’s broadcast over terrestrial radio.

You can only call it audio drama if it’s not a comedy.

You can only call it a fiction podcast if it has an RSS feed and slips me a twenty.

You can only call it an audiobook if - wait, no! Come back! I’m fun at parties!

An yellowish-grey aged and faded poster in the style of a circus announcement. A sunburst of stripes runs from the outside to the center, lightening to invisible as they reach the center where there is an ornate frame. Inside the frame is white person with dirty blond hair and a beard in wire-framed glasses and a green sweater looking at the camera.

Above the frame is printed "Professor Pandemonium's Peculiar Panoply Presents" and below it is "Elliot Somerfield Writer Dr. Ocular's House of Mirrors"
