I think if you’re an institution of higher learning it’s actually an existential problem for you if people want to demand repeated hearings for demonstrable falsehoods on the grounds that belief in them is deeply held

When you add it all up, the collapse in immigration looks like this: a decline of roughly 50K for illegal (even including the people arrested and not released) and a decline of about 132K for legal. Over 70% of the cut in immigration has come from LEGAL immigration.
Congratulations!!
One of the more embarrassing things the mainstream media has done to promote white supremacy is pretending this guy, who is responsible for killing the Voting Rights Act and Affirmative action is doing it based on race-neutral adherence to principle because he’s not wearing a hood.
Tweet from Elon Musk: “Soros Organization has taken over Hungary”
Sure hope the ADL is feeling good about going out of their way to defend this guy against charges of antisemitism.
"Jews promote race-mixing among everyone else, to undermine the white race, while protecting their own racial purity" is a quite longtime fascist view about the Jews. It's literally part of Nazi ideology.
i will vote for any candidate who offers up this slogan

Absolutely vile: Trump just said on Fox that the threat to obliterate Iranian civilization was a good thing, because "it brought them to the table."
We have to take this on frontally and directly. It's a lie, and the underlying idea it's premised on is even worse:

A woman who worked for nearly two years for Rep. Eric Swalwell, a leading candidate for California governor, said she had sexual encounters with him while he was her boss and alleged he twice sexually assaulted her when she was too intoxicated to consent.

I can't stop laughing at this post. It's perfect.
Whoever accepts one of these pardons should catch a lifetime 14A §3 ban on government service, federal, state, or municipal — and Dems feeling some patriotic zeal could do the country a service by saying as much right now.
“Trump promises mass pardon to staff before leaving office.
In a recent meeting, the president said he would pardon those within 200 feet of the Oval Office, say people familiar with the remarks.”

there really isn't much to the American ideology that refers to itself as "conservatism" beyond rejection of the New Deal reforms of the 1930s and the civil-rights reforms of the 1960s
Here for this take! What’s wild to me is they’re singled out for so much hate when it’s actually the fact that they’re such a banally average example of late 90s/early 00s grungey dude rock that makes me dislike them. Creed, Staind, Puddle of Mudd…the list goes on.
ICE agents shot another driver -- on Tues.
He had just asked to call his wife.
They shot him six times. One bullet his jaw.
Now he can't speak and has been mostly unconscious.

SCOTUS’s recent decision appears like a lopsided First Amendment triumph—a ringing endorsement that states can’t prescribe what's orthodox in the marketplace of ideas (the orthodox position being opposition to “conversion therapy”).
A closer look reveals it's incredibly harmful. trib.al/AIZ3kta

Would be delighted to be proven wrong, and I think Platner would be better than Collins, to be clear.
The Platner/Mills situation is so profoundly depressing to me as someone who grew up in Maine; but I also feel pretty resolute that Collins is absolutely unbeatable. She routed Tom Allen in 2008 by ~30% when Obama carried the state by ~20% iirc. The nat'l media is wrong to call the seat competitive.
The big day is finally here: My long (long)-awaited book launch!

Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal.
Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big.
And here we are.
Just a normal push alert to wake up to

we'll see how it shakes out over the course of years, but as of right now, mamdani is definitely showing how the future of good progressive governance means "use government to do good things and then post about it"
both parts are important!
Funny that we banished the women's studies scholars and critical race theorists immediately before proving everything they said more correct than they ever could have imagined.

It really doesn't help how many liberals hold up the Constitution as some great document. No nation should be governed by a lightly amended 240 year old piece of paper that in many ways has never worked for most Americans.

This debate is as much about our national values as it is about economic policy: “How little do you think the least person deserves in our economy?”
