Your landing page's goal is to make people start the onboarding process

The onboarding's goal is to make people understand the value of your app fast, and ideally hook them on a trial/purchase

The main goal of your ad creative isn't to convert, it's to make users stop scrolling and read your headline

Your headline's goal is to make users read the copy

Your copy's goal is to make users click on your landing page

Those ads alone grew my previous startup from $0 to $1,000 MRR

No videos, no fancy design, just a simple static ad

It worked because:
- I knew who the target audience was
- The ad was talking about them and their problems
- I had a good landing page/funnel

My roadmap for GenerateAds is just adding every feature my users ask for + making better ads

It took LOTS of work, and I had to A/B test multiple versions of the onboarding (I used TestIt.so), but it was worth it

MRR went from $100 to almost $1300 in 4 months, and then I sold the app for $25,000 cash

6️⃣ I noticed that users who did 4 exams were 90% more likely to convert to paid users. But the problem is that veterinarians are busy, and they just forgot about the app. So I added an option to send them an email reminder to use the app 10 minutes before their next exam starts.

5️⃣ Right after the demo was done, I showed them an offer: Get a 30-day free trial + Discount if you add a payment method now (Stole this from @Timb03's Pally). They could not get the offer anywhere else, so it created FOMO and got trials

4️⃣ Instead, I added a pre-recorded exam so they could click the "create note" button and get the result immediately. It was not *their* exam, but it clearly showed how the app works

4️⃣ The product was an app to help veterinarians do their exams faster using AI. My demo was initially just a recorder where they could record an exam to try the app. Problem: When they saw my ads and signed up, they were not in an exam, so the demo was not very useful. Many just left at this point

3️⃣ When they clicked next, it created an account and logged them in automatically behind the scenes, then sent them to a demo. The only goal of the demo is to show them the value of the product as fast as possible.

2️⃣ Next, personal info. Name, email etc. But don’t just add an email input, in this case, I asked “Where do you want to receive your notes?” -> It feels like they’re getting something useful

1️⃣ The onboarding screen had a title “Let’s personalise your experience”. Then it asked them questions about themselves (no email yet). It doesn’t matter if you don't personalise, it’s good to learn more about your users

The B2B SaaS I sold a month ago was stuck at $100 MRR for almost 8 months

It all changed when I added a proper onboarding

The most important part:
Don’t send users to a basic “signup” page.
It’s boring, and it feels like they’re just giving you their email and will get spammed

I don't know why I haven't tried that before, 100x faster than typing long and specific instructions
