If you're running a large scale event, there's an incredible amount of local ordinances you have to navigate and some are just asking you to spend more money for filing fees.

Insurance, and security also is a corpo controlled game too.
I'm not saying you do not need them, in fact you HAVE to have security and insurance for your event. (yes, even weddings in some capacity)

If you want to hold an event at a hotel just about all of them require a F&B minimum. If you need special tech like wifi, that's another expense. Then you have negotiate a rate for your guests, not the cheapest rate, but a locked in rate.

The prices set by them are in stone 99% of the time and there is no negotiations unless you offer them more.

This is a huge reason why while the Live Nation and AXS duopoly exists we will never see the reduction of prices of concerts especially as they continue to buy up venue after venue.

Another point is local laws, and the lack of corporate interests controlling the market, but I see to be the only one who brings that up.

Event planners do not control the market, hotels and event spaces do. Hotels totally control the meetings market.

Labor is a strong factor, there is a reason why having your wedding in Colorado is more expensive than having it in Jamaica.

Unless you are deeply rooted within the community that my event is serving I do not want your money. With a few exceptions of course; a large scale event to refuse sponsors without funding will reduce what the event can offer

Little things like med tents, water stations, security, and sewage add up

One stance I refuse to shift on when it comes to building out any event that I am personally producing is fuck corporate sponsors. You start to lose control of your vision as you start to pile them on as your events messaging begins to get lost in all of the promo you have to do for your sponsors.

From the pool has to have so much extra deck space, to the standards of its build just makes it so much more complicated than its worth. It would actually be more affordable to just rent a pool space, which there are not very many options that fit the brand I want to build.

For example, I want to do a annual Summer pop-up day club.
