After a mass exodus following the founding of Mag Garden (& the future Ichijinsha), the first half of the 00s was a hectic time for the future Square-Enix.

As part of the Jump Multi World booklet in 1993, the next author they highlighted was Motoei Shinzawa, best known for his "High School! Kimengumi" manga. We've also dug into the author comments surrounding it's cancellation in 1987.
Coming off of the 15th anniversary issue in 2001, Weekly Big Comic Spirits issue #19 started with some new serializations and closing out of some previous stories. With an older demographic for readers, it also asked a question related to economy.
The 18th issue of Weekly Big Comic Spirits back in 2001 was the 15th anniversary issue! So for that week's author comments, most of the authors kept their answers a bit more hopeful and uplifting.
Back in 2001, Weekly Big Comic Spirits in issue 17, asked its authors what some of their best jokes are for April Fool's Day!
As we move deeper into the Jump Multi World booklet from 1993, we start getting to some more mangaka who had been published in the mid-to-late 80s. Tadashi Sato with "The Burning Wild Man" was one of those artists who we take a look at next.
While Yoshihiro Kuroiwa would later find his big success with "Zenki" in Monthly Shonen Jump, he still had a collection of short series in Weekly Shonen Jump in the late 80s which got him a profile in the Jump Multi World booklet from 1993.
The Spring season had also started back in 2001, so the editors asked the authors what signs of spring were they looking forward to.
For the graduation season, the editors asked the authors back in March 2001 who they would like to hear a congratulatory speech from!

From when the Jump Multi World event was happening in 1993, the Ninku manga series was a relatively new series. We dig into the author Koji Kiriyama and his previous works over in Shogakukan's magazines.

While you might consider a mangaka a famous person, in Issue #12 of Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2001, they ask those mangaka what famous person they would want to read their own stories.
For the Valentine's Day issue of Weekly Big Comic Spirits in 2001, the editors attempted to have a nice question about the day... but some of the authors took a bit more of a dark response.
It may have only been February back in 2001... but Weekly Big Comic Spirits was already running out of ideas for questions to the authors. So they basically repeated a question again about the 21st century!
Not all of the author questions are happy ones! For issue #9 in 2001 for Weekly Big Comic Spirits they ask the authors about what makes them feel small.
Even though it was a short series, newcomer Taro Gachon had a small article in the Jump Multi World booklet in 1993. In addition to that article we take a look at his work leading up to his only serialization, Ozumo Deka.
