One Day In Tirana: What Do To In Tirana, Albania Tirana is a vibrant city with a unique history and a warm, welcoming culture - any Albania trip should include at least one day in Tirana.

I liked it! I put some recommendations in this post, if you’re interested: maycausewanderlust.com/tirana-one-d...

I was in Rimini only briefly after visiting San Marino, but it seemed really pleasant and chill

Yes, it feels imbalanced that way - bit strange!

Front cover of two passports - an old red EU one with the corner cut off and a new British dark blue one

Front cover of two passports - an old red EU one with the corner cut off and a new British dark blue one

Very impressed with the quick process to get my passport renewed: it arrived within a week!

Bad news is, as others have pointed out, the new-look blue British passport feels flimsy

Good news is I can now book some trips! #traveladdicts ✈️🗺️

They love it in Iceland, though, it seems! Lots of varieties in the shops, anyway

Is that some chocolate licorice balls at the back, there?

I’ve heard of people being denied entry because of non-official stamps, such as the kind you get at places like Machu Picchu and San Marino

These stamps haven’t been a problem for me, so far, but I’ve had low-level fear about it…

I wanted to customise my theme quite a bit, and some parts seemed like they should have been simple but I ended up crying actual tears trying to work it out on my own 🤦‍♀️

Yeah, such a shame considering how great the travel twitter community was, but I think those days are gone… I’ve been engaging here more these days

Happy New Year! Hope you find a good one and that the transition is smooth. I really hated the set-up phase of creating my site… 😖

A1. Warm, doughy bread with butter is 👌👌👌

A2. I’ve never wanted to bake my own - happy to buy from experts!

A3. I’ve had great bread in the nordics: moist, rich rye bread in Denmark; crusty sandwiches in Norway & Iceland. Also, love Pão de Queijo in Brazil (fluffy cheesy rolls)

You can get good falafel in London - most of the food markets have stalls of Middle Eastern food and Maoz is super tasty

Recently tried the very touristy and very expensive (but quite fun) Bar Hemingway in Paris, where the #cocktails come with roses 🌹

I think there’s no meaningful difference, but people dislike the idea of being a tourist, so they identify as a traveller to separate themselves from that

To me, LA feels like Milton Keynes with sunshine 😬

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

Interesting! If I think about the places I didn’t love but returned to (Brussels, LA, Milan), I don’t think my perception changed on the return visits very much at all 🤷‍♀️

There are things I liked about all of them, though - just didn’t fully click with them

Tbf, I see it as my job as the host to request it seeing as that’s what I want in my home, so I get why your friend gave you the heads up

It wasn’t common for me growing up to take shoes off indoors (anywhere we went), but I prefer no shoes in my place and seems like more & more people do in my circle. I normally take my cue from the host: if they’re shoeless &/or haven’t said anything, I’ll ask
