A historic engraving depicts the wedding ceremony of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in a grand hall. The couple stands at the center, surrounded by elegantly dressed guests. The architecture features tall stained glass windows and ornate columns. The scene conveys a sense of regal formality and celebration.

#OnThisDay in 1840, Queen Victoria married Prince Albert. Unusually for brides of the time, she wore a white dress, a symbol not so much of purity than of wealth, which proved immensely influential.

Watching Pride and Prejudice and one of my favourite scenes is when, after Lizzie refuses Mr. Collins's proposal, Mrs. Bennet chases her and there are geese all around!
