Giving a lecture at Friday 8am is wild. Letβs see.

In academia this weird age is between the age of 25 and 55. At least. Am I right?
Yes please :) Have to take care of my 8SWS in SoSe, but other than that I am game.
My sincere thanks goes to all students, PhDs, pdocs, colleagues and friends who have supported and inspired me in previous years! I will keep a part time affiliation with WUR to continue existing projects.
Blue sky at dusk overlooking the marina of lake Senftenberg close to the university. At this time of the year still without boats.
Quick career update. Since beginning of March, I am appointed as Professor of Biosensorics at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU, Germany). Expect more single-molecule and single-cell inspired stuff & #OpenMicroscopy soonTM (π§¬,π§«,π¬,π§ͺ).
As a wise man said, the Stone Age did not end because there werenβt any stones left.
Hi @seamusholden.bsky.social, just came across there here: www.microfluidic-chipshop.com/28-pre-cut-a...
Yes, works well. The algo and the shear number of users make a big difference.
I mean people made jokes about Apple memory prices for ages, but this really takes the cookie
Was about to build a new PC for SMLM detection. Memory is ~500 Euros for 32Gb?!?!?! What?
Bonus points for the double meaning in German.
Guess we are living in the future now. Just submitted a manuscript and the website retrieved most information (abstract, names, etc) from the submitted files. I did not have to type everything again! π€― (disclaimer: keywords and authorsβ contributions were not automatically detected...)
We are very excited to share a new resource from our team: spatial subcellular proteome maps in plants! We developed an MS-based method that registers localizations of about 8000 proteins in Arabidopsis roots in a single experiment.

Coordinated call for applications for three (!) thematically related professorships (cell physiology, molecular genetics, and biochemistry) at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (Germany) (thread)
Yeah. Just checked. 1.5 hrs between Dresden and Berlin sounds good though.
Does it stop in between Dresden and Berlin? Asking for a friend.
New preprint alert!
We developed an automated framework to optimize tracking pipelines for bacteria, along with a nice integration of tools for bacteria imaging, in the recently released TrackMate 8 (Fiji plugin).

No. I get empty screens. Dunno whether stuck or not.
I have created an app to help students learn about emission and absorption spectra. Here is the link. I hope you find it useful π

Great to see our Science Review on emerging multiplexed single-molecule methods that use libraries to link sequence to dynamics. A fun collaborative writing project! From sequence to function: Bridging single-molecule kinetics and molecular diversity | Science www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Weirdly repulsive and attractive at the same time. The Lennard-Jones potential of Food.
Always! :)
Booked flight got cancelled today, the one on Monday had 3hrs delay. Best to stay at home. π
Wings of three planes. One of them showing a cartoon mouse.
