nonzero chance the FBI is plugging LLMs into wiretap data under the legal theory AI alone can’t implicate 4th amendment concerns (semi-known 702 issue). or the NSA has now hard coded wiretaps across all newly built US data centers due to expanded ECSP scope. or probably both.

Maybe bluesky should switch their CDN from bunny to cloudflare. Their current CDN obviously can't handle it.
July 21 1935: The FĂĽhrer orders a new reception hall and ballroom to "entertain foreign diplomats" at the Chancellery. Underneath the dance floor is an air raid shelter. A 2nd deeper bunker is built next to this in 1944, where he would spend his last days as the Reich collapsed.
It was a DDoS attack on bluesky that caused all the issues over the last day. Curious who was behind it.
Our team received a report of intermittent app outages at about 11:40pm PDT on April 15, 2026. They worked through the night to mitigate a sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, which intensified throughout the day.
Thank you Senator Chris Van Hollen for sharing US citizen Rachel Corrie’s story from the Senate floor and voting to block the destructive bulldozers that Israeli soldiers used to kill her.
I'm so sorry, he was such a cutie. I'm so sorry for your loss
Students in the Texas Tech system (64k, give or take) are now PROHIBITED from researching or writing anything "centered on" sexual orientation or gender identity as part of an undergrad honors or graduate thesis. Not faculty, mind you. Students.
In a blatant 1st Amendment violation, students in the Texas Tech University system are completely banned from researching or writing anything related to sexual orientation or gender identity as part of their thesis.
i simply find it a little hard to believe that shortly after every website implemented ai code and fired a bunch of engineers they all started breaking constantly every single day but its not related to the ai code or the skeleton crew
Policy outlined here. www.texastech.edu/downloads/26...
I'm sure @thefireorg.bsky.social will be all over this. Any day now...

1. In a landmark ruling, the Montana Supreme Court has declared that the constitution, one of the most progressive in the nation, entirely protects transgender people.
The ruling is even insulated from SCOTUS decisions, due to how state constitutions work.

As a donor who is at present endeavoring to fund and set up a scholarship with the university's Hutchins Center, may I say that if "viewpoint diversity" -- politicized shitspeak for protecting weaker ideas from better ones -- encompasses any part of my effort, I'm suing to get the money back.
The most predictable thing happened. Many south Asians got on board the MAGA train and its bigotry thinking their wealth and power would insulate them from the racist mob. Turns out it doesn't.
We told you so.

As a desi, I’m fascinated by the Indians who caped hard for Trump. Many of them seem to have felt insulated by their wealth and success—the “model minority”—only to now realize that a lot of MAGA hates them. @ashwinrodrigues.com reports: www.wired.com/story/maga-i...
A screenshot of a social media app in dark mode showing a drafted post that failed to send. At the top, a red error banner reads: "The server appears to be experiencing issues. Please try again in a few moments." Below the banner is a drafted post by a user that says: "Been using this site for 3 years now and I don't think I've ever encountered so much downtime, especially during peak times. Not a surprise this is right after they started using AI to code the site." The drafted post is quoting another post by Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com), which reads: "I enjoy Bluesky but the fact it is randomly down for 1-2 hours a day is really not great".
Incredible.
I enjoy Bluesky but the fact it is randomly down for 1-2 hours a day is really not great
Men have occupied these roles before and no one cared. This is specifically about targeting trans women.
A screenshot of a news article. The headline reads: "Trans woman heavily criticised after being appointed to represent an endometriosis charity resigns 'in best interests' of the cause." Below the headline are social media sharing icons and a button that says "Be first to comment." In the center are two side-by-side photos of a blonde woman. The photo on the left is a professional studio portrait of her wearing a pink sleeveless top and a pearl necklace. The photo on the right shows her outdoors wearing a dark blue hooded jacket with a red badge. At the bottom of the image, the text reads: "07:03 EDT 16 Apr 2026, updated 07:50 EDT 16 Apr 2026 By ELIZABETH HAIGH, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER".
The British press managed to bully another trans woman out of her job. This is a regular occurrence now.
How is “viewpoint diversity” not just affirmative action for people with bad ideas
They can get more profit by cutting costs after buying up a portfolio of channels and consolidating production costs and ancillary costs such as legal, merch, accounting, hr etc. After that maxes out, they'll slowly replace the host, increase output, and lower quality through paid content.
A screenshot of a four-paragraph article excerpt that reads: Jenner also spent a lot of time talking about how much she loves President Donald Trump, noting that she has his personal cell number and that he and Melania have personally called her. She voted for Trump in 2016 and 2024. She revealed that at a recent visit to Mar-A-Lago, she wrote a letter to the president, asking for his personal help with a problem plaguing many trans Americans right now: the loss of their authentic gender marker on their identification. “Now we're going too far to the right, you know, with gender markers,” she said. Jenner revealed that when she renewed her passport, it came back with an M for “male.” “What do I do? I can't travel internationally anymore,” said Jenner. She said so far, Trump has not responded to her letter, and she’s chosen not to call him.
Caitlyn Jenner complained to Tomi Lahren that her passport gender marker was reverted back to male and it has inhibited her ability to travel. Trump ignored her letter to him about this. Despite this, she says she still loves Donald Trump.
I look forward to more anarchist syndicalists at the law school. The long drought of ideological diversity may finally be over.
If Harvard is looking for professors who will provide "viewpoint diversity" in exchange for $10 million, I'll happily preach communism at Harvard Business School or teach courses on anarchy at the Law School.
Hell, throw in a 3BR2BA and I'll be the creationist in your Biology Department as well.
"The effort comes in response to longstanding criticism that Harvard’s faculty leans overwhelmingly liberal."
Golly, I wonder why faculties tend to be overwhelmingly liberal? Are liberals more drawn to teaching? Have conservatives been engaged in a long war on science and knowledge? WHO KNOWS?
Cough** Steven Pinker.
