Huge congratulations to the newly annointed Dr @inclusionista.bsky.social π₯³ - such an important and insightful piece of work - Marginalised communities in childrenβs speech and language therapy: the experiences of primary carers living with social and economic disadvantage

Thank you @kimt-slt.bsky.social I really did have the most amazing supervisory team (Prof Julie Marshall, Drs Joe Keenan, Neil Carey & Kim Turner). Thank you to my examiner too, Drs Katelyn Melvin & Tina Rochelle for your interest in my work and encouraging feedback. #PhdLife #NeverTooLate
Excited to share Lecturer post working with our return to practice students & me!
Like working with different health &care professions, building skills & confidence, using remote teaching methods then πjobs.bcu.ac.uk/en/sites/CX_1/job/245/
@lannycrochet.bsky.social welcome! Loving the handle btw. Let's get a crochet thread going!
I hear you, but what's your take on different forms of evidence, including practitioner experience and patient/client views (Sackett et al)?
Can anyone give Cheryl some reassurance? BCU alumni? Employers?

This is entirely accurate!
Great to meet you in person at last @mariammalik.bsky.social. Melanie Packer, Simon Bedeau, Iman Virji, Dr Sharon Adjei-Nicol, Sahar Nashir, come join us on Bluesky!

A very special evening at #BirminghamCityUniversity celebrating this important & courageous book. Great conversations between the authors & audience which included our students, alumni and colleagues. Thank you to @mariammalik.bsky.social & the other authors, and all who attended. #SLT #ant-racism
We run two collaborative working sessions with primary education students and SaLT students together here at BCU. Agree more needs to be done. A challenge is that the curriculum for associate teachers is already so full, especially for the PGCE route.
Leeds has a fully funded scholarship program for undergraduate and Masters study for Gaza students.

I welcome a day to celebrate communication in schools. As well as spoken language, we should encourage and celebrate signed language and all other forms of communication. Also, if children choose to communicate with writing implements, that's great too imo. #NoPensDay = #communicateAsYouChooseDay

Does he/she steal (one out of a pair of) socks and teaspoons (from staff kitchens) too? π€
@sarah-spencer-salt.bsky.social Welcome Sarah!
When they are new to the course
I'm STILL referring to it as the 'new' criteria! Undergraduate students look at me like I'm talking about the dark ages π. Generally more awareness of DLD in new cohorts though. #DevLangDis
Welcome @rcslt.bsky.social we've been expecting you π
Seems like fun

Welcome to my amazing colleague @bammo44.bsky.social Glad you've joined us here π
Yes, I understood you meant busy π. Does this help clarify what I was meaning? www.bbc.com/worklife/art... I know no harm was intended but so much of our language unnecessarily reinforces negative stereotypes of mental illness and disability.
Thanks for sharing. Great to see good coverage of #DLDday across platforms. I respectfully challenge your use of 'manic' here though.
Sorry for your loss, Rachel. Sounds like he was an amazing man. My dad was an engineer too and your experience of finding stuff resonated with me. Dozens of pencils neatedly sharpened and more measuring tapes than anyone could ever need! May they rest in peace.

Heath would like to know if I've finished my PhD yet (I havent). Also, why hasn't he been fed yet (he has)
Newish to IPA but I am inclined to agree. The process of engaging with the data through analysis has been transformative for me. How can you be reflexive if you are not interacting with the data yourself?
