Reminds me of the only other time I tried voice ordering: "Alexa order me a pack of AA batteries on Amazon" resulted in it placing an academic book on batteries in my basket...for £250.

We have often had quality concerns about ONS retail data, and now, so does the ONS. uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/ons-del...

Morrisons Harrow must have been high on their own supply when spending £££s installing locked cabinets for its whiskey. They thought shoppers would 'buzz for booze' and wait patiently for help. They've sobered up now and opened the doors.

...even after adjusting for sales tax. Shein assures US shoppers that it is committed to 'all-in' pricing and that they will not be charged extra at the point of receiving the goods. In which case prices will surely go up by substantially more by May 2

BrewDog or lapdog? The craft beer rebel’s sauce range is far from punk For a brand that once defined itself by challenging the status quo, BrewDog's sauce range feels surprisingly conventional, says Gareth Turner, director at Big Black Door

itvnews on TikTok The boss of Sainsbury’s and Argos is calling on the UK government to close a tax loophole that allows small parcels to enter the country tax-free. He warns that, due to the US-China trade war, cheap goods from China could flood the UK market. British retallers argue this gives foreign companies like Temu and Shein an unfair advantage. #itvnews #shein #tariffs #taxloophole

To my teenage daughter I am obviously totally uncool, as is my job. But this clip from the news that I was on last night somehow popped up in her TikTok feed. She's pretending not to be impressed, in case I get carried away. vm.tiktok.com/ZNdY1kg86/

RIP WH Smith. I feel I should now confess that in the mid 80s I used to return ZX Spectrum games having copied them and then recorded over them to make them appear faulty. No wonder you only sold for £76m.

WH Smith shares down almost 4% today, following disappointingly low sale price for the high street arm.

Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 Classic 330ml down from £5 to £3.32. Our data hasn't tracked a 330ml bottle but can see that Asda were selling a substantially larger bottle (450ml) for less than £5 all this year. Why they would also have been selling a smaller bottle for more is anyone's guess. (5/5)

Nestle Munch Bunch Kids Pots 340g down from £1.78 to £1.18. But at one point last month it was selling at Asda for £1.17. (4/5)

Next: Cathedral City 360g was £3.48, is now £2.78. Our data shows that Asda were selling a slightly smaller 350g pack for £2.61 last month (3/5)

Lets have a look some of the products Asda have chosen to highlight. Firstly, Philadelphia Soft Cheese 165g down from £2.08 to £1.16. In our database we cannot find the exact product but we can see that a 'lightest herbs' version could be bought last month for as little as £1.13 (2/5)

So Asda has started a massive price war today - but are the price cuts they've highlighted all that they seem? (1/5) Data below is from GlobalData Online Price Intelligence...
