Creating things that don't have interactivity though is incredibly easy to do, given the 2.5D limitations. Mapster32 (level editor) is easy to open up and just build stuff, especially after some fancy User Mods. It's like digital Lego where I'm only stunted by my own imagination.
Building things in the Build Engine, at least for Duke Nukem 3D, can get pretty chaotic once you want things to light up or move. It is way less intimidating then it looks, lots of just copy & pasting really, but I remember being so intimidated by it as first.

It doesn't help in Episode 2, but the expander is actually a fantastic anti-Sentry weapon, I'm also a fan of using the pistol, it fires fast enough to just keep them stun locked, and I usually have ammo for the pistol. Pistol in general has some great uses because of its accuracy.
