Similar here. What a privilege, isn't it? Thinking of all those living in different circumstances who need peace but can't even find a glimpse of it.

Oh and re your blackbird, hopefully not his last ever๐Ÿ˜ฆ?? That would kinda spoil the scene!

Vital for those of us who've been hurt and/or ostracised, giving us a chance to check out what we can expect if we dare to show up. Thank you.

...Nor ever discovered that God might possibly have been active doing holy stuff before they showed up to claim it?

I guess it was harder then than now to be a fish without a bicycle...

Agree, loved it. Still undecided about the ending though. To avoid spoilers I'm just going to leave it at that.

Also have been found more likely to lead people into domestic abuse. Less into empathy all round ๐Ÿ˜ž

Increasingly of the opinion that #MoralInjury results from systems that put people in impossible positions like these

Appalling. Our hearts go out to those affected.
When we had to leave our family homes, many of us were expected to be grateful for 6 months here & 6 months there in empty #Vicarages. Temporary housing is so stressful, esp for young traumatised families. Temporary status all the more so. Dreadful.

It's important to manage expectations of daily workload too. Families hold off demanding access to clergy all week, only for the day off to be a massive disappointment because he/she is exhausted & needs to catch up on family admin & jobs postponed all week. Putting a brave face on it doesn't help.

Important to listen, & keep listening, to #ClergySpice around what works for them. Families need friends, 7 days a week, & those friends need to understand how complicated it all is.

So many unrealistic expectations put on them. Try being a bereft single parent of troubled children after a traumatic breakup, without a car, in temporary accommodation a long way from school, being expected to work 16 hours a week. See what that does for your confidence & self esteem

I once accidentally spooked our neighbours' kids by hanging a hooded white cassock alb upside down on the washing line. The wind made it rear up over their fence like something from Lord of the Flies ๐Ÿ‘ป

So sorry you have to put up with such appalling behaviour

Hooray for everyone recognising that Cathy & Heathcliff's is more of a horror story than a love story

Excellent. Grateful to hear the unhelpful dynamics are being named and addressed.
We need a follow-up study about the knock-on to the people around them please!

This is the biggest issue for those of us whose family homes were #TiedAccommodation. If you're not the office-holder, you have zero rights. You might think a moral duty would be recognised in the case of a #Vicarage or #Manse.. Sadly not

Thanks. Things are on the up for me but there are so many people worse off, many of them with little prospect of escaping the broken systems.
It always helps to connect with people who "get it"! Have a good day

So true. Grief & exhaustion has to be "depression & anxiety" in order to buy me & my kids some recovery time. When any joy, or ability to function more highly, begins to break through, it feels like it needs to be hidden in order to perform the illness.

More polarisation results from dehumanising them.
Agree about the tiredness though. Heard of another brilliant charity which has disengaged from all online/media discourse to safeguard its clients. Handing over the narrative cos culture of fear.
Didn't there used to be other motives in the world?
