Started playing Songs Of Conquest last night and god damn if it isn’t the most beautiful game.

Kinda, I think it’s more about a world in which myth & legend are real, a sense of adventure, and (what is presented as) a fairly linear morality system. An unexplored world. Cowboys as Knights Errant, bandits and treasure etc.. And lots and lots of horses!

Every 4-5 months or so my interests switch almost fully from Fantasy to Westerns, and at the moment I’m righhtt on that cusp of the switchover. I do think, however, that westerns and fantasy share an awful lot in common. So maybe it’s not so much of a switch as a continuation of sorts. Idk 🤷‍♀️

I have a similar issue with Faery Ring, but I’ve decided to embrace it. I am inclined towards ‘songs’, so that is what I write. I think writing ‘pieces’ is a skill I’ve never really developed but I deeply admire those who do it so beautifully. Interesting observation!
