Ooh that’s a great idea. My father’s funeral we did not have a litany of the saints. I sang “Loving and Forgiving” which was his favorite psalm. I’m much more traditional in my song choices and would probably have something with heavy organ. 😂

Mamdani hasn't had time to really think about all that space he now has, because he spends most of his time at City Hall and around New York City. He tries to keep a semblance of his old life by getting around the city on foot, by bike or train.

"If you spend every single day driving around in a tinted window security detail, you will have a very specific view of the city," he said. "You actually meet other New Yorkers and you break out of the bubble that so many have come to expect of politics, where politicians only seem to be spending time with other politicians or the people who donated to make them politicians."

I'd say that this applies to anyone traveling in a car in any city. Being in a car versus walking, riding, or taking transit fundamentally changes how you view a place and your relationship to it. I wish more leaders set this kind of example.

"you're just some fringe radical that doesn't live in the real world"

i'm the most run of the mill average parent that is just trying to get through the chaos of parenting and life - just so happen to prefer walking places if possible and think kids should have mobility freedom to enjoy their youth

I have more to say about our cargo bike test ride event but one thing for sure is that a bike/e-bike/cargo bike subsidy program here would be VERY popular

Wild weather today and had the tornado sirens go off twice already. My kid just looked out the window and said “why is the sky green?”. Welp, that’s tornado weather sky.

Kids are hilarious. My kid just told me about a song at school where a man arrives at an old lady’s house in different body parts (?!?) and then when he is whole the old lady hits him with a chair! 🙃 Anyone know what song this is?

We just had the tornado sirens go off (twice so far today) and there are reports of baseball sized hail north of me. 😬

❤️❤️❤️ For me, it had been so joyful to get places with my kids and hear them notice the flowers, smells, birds, everything. Now my kids get where they need to go without me driving them, which gives me more free time!

Is this at the parish, diocese, or national level? I have heard these types of stats for a lot of churches and dioceses! 😍

The 60 minutes segment on Pope Leo is great. “He’s the pastor of the world, he’s not a pundit…he’s not going to pronounce on everything, but he’s going to pronounce on what’s important” ❤️

My friend in South Africa said she was going to fill up some jerry cans before she goes to AfrikaBurn soon. She wants to be able to get home! Definitely times where she went to different stations and there was no fuel. 😬

“You don’t need to be an engineer to participate in this kind of work.” - Teasel Muir-Harmony

I think this point can’t be emphasized enough! It bums me out when people tell me they’re not “smart” enough to work in science. We need all kinds of skills/contributions to achieve these amazing feats.

I got super emotional when I saw the control room at Johnson Space Center and they did a re-enactment of the moon landing. We can do amazing things when we work together as humans! 😭

The Artemis II mission was incredible. We can do big things and do good things for the country and the world, when we work together and stand up for each other.

My husband, repeatedly: “How can they do this? How can it be so precise??”

SCIENCE. Publicly funded science.

Right now the #Artemis II capsule is engulfed in hot plasma as it plunges through the atmosphere and will be out of communication for another 3 minutes. Holding my breath.
