Coppery magnetic clasps on black cord end in a pendant composed of a rosy, copper filigree T-hang piece, a silvery filigree star or flower, and a silvery corvid skull pendant. A pale pink thread similar to the red tones of the clasps and T-piece tie the parts of the pendant together.
I made jewelry today. Life and memento mori all at once? I like how the thread riffs on the red tones of the clasp and the T-connector filigree bead.

With the Artemis II Mission, the Lunar Land Grab Begins | The Walrus
The moon once belonged to everyone. Soon it will belong to the rich
Thanks for these links. This line from the article below stuck with me: "in space, it seems, there are abundant opportunities to make the same mistakes again"

John Waters standing beside a wall with a sign that says: The John Waters Restrooms. All Gender.
Not my photo.
In 2000, John Waters donated 372 pieces of his art collection to the Baltimore Museum of Art. They named a rotunda after him in their gallery. He requested an all-gender restroom be named for him instead. #BOTD

Not doing too well rn. Just... Fri night, still on the job search for fulltime employment, and feeling hopeless.
Happy holy week I guess (Passover and Easter).

I have many OCs but the most obvious example: Maho is an animist who is on her second or third life (Pathfinder 2e samsaran). Her name literally sounds the same as the word for magic (魔法) just spelled differently.

This is why I keep it out of my classrooms.
This is why I teach my students to be careful/critical in their consumption of gAI.
This is why universities shouldn't be so bloody ridiculously uncritical in forcing gAI on faculty, staff and students.
We're inculcating dependence on a catastrophic scale

"Robnett says she was struck by how many respondents called tradwives 'lazy', suggesting they were opting out of work while enjoying the benefits of their husbands’ labour"
I mean, it's nice to have confirmation the men who seek these arrangements resent even the "good" women who play their fantasy

Tradwife movement ‘attracts men who are hostile to women’
The strongest predictor of support for women staying at home and deferring to their husband is not, as researchers expected, chivalry but ‘hostile sexism’
"Among young American men, the strongest predictor of support for the tradwife lifestyle was not gallantry but hostility towards women"
Apparently this is not what researchers "expected". Which makes one wonder: had these researchers thought about it for 30 seconds?

WebAIM: The WebAIM Million - The 2026 report on the accessibility of the top 1,000,000 home pages
Search:
New WebAIM Million report for 2026 is out. #Accessibility issues increased over 10% from the previous year, credited to 'vibe coding' practices and genAI/LLMs.
tl;dr: when LACK of accessibility is prevalent, genAI makes the gap widen even more.

I know D&D and Pathfinder have been used for it, especially with the figures in-game of the Raven Queen or of Pharasma.

Mary Wollstonecraft warned you that women who are only objects of pity and love, due to their “fascinating graces,” their “soft phrases, susceptibility of heart, [and] delicacy of sentiment” — in a word, due to their weakness (and not strength) — “will soon become objects of contempt.”

US dual-citizens are subject to global income taxation by IRS regardless of place of residence. While tax treaties between the US & their other country of citizenship can take out some of the tax sting and other US Treasury Department pains, there is a cost in $ and compliance hassle.

Apparently, in the oral arguments today the guvmint lawyer was ranting that there are 500 companies helping Chinese with birth tourism. If so they must be operating at a massive loss. I wrote in 2011 about the infinitesimal numbers of such tourists when last time there was a panic about this:

It's also a counterexample for people saying the humanities are irrelevant. Without journals, diaries, and poems (hanami festivities), we wouldn't have such data.

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.
