🌍 The global public healthcare funding crisis is putting lives at risk.
🆕 Feature in @theconversation.com explores 3 strategies that could help strengthen health systems across the continent of Africa.
Real lives with real consequences. The US funding withdrawl is devestating communities.
“We are close to 300 [worshipers] but nowadays we are only less than 150. People are stick at home.”
List of some major #GlobalHealth programmes now cut:
👩🏿🔬 Today we celebrate #WomeninScience! Now, more than ever, it is crucial to support science and empower the next generation of leaders in the #HIV response.
👥 Meet three of our IAS Young Leaders who are passionate about science and making an impact! #WomenScienceDay
The freezing of US foreign aid and PEPFAR could have far-reaching consequences for the treatment and elimination of #hepatitis worldwide, particularly for those living with #HIV.
Now is the time to double down on advocacy & collaboration to ensure we can continue providing life-saving services. 💪
Big day for @iasociety.bsky.social with 2 official statements on the devestating impact of the US Global Gag Rule and #PEPFAR. It's time to fight back! 💪

📣 The IAS warns that the reinstatement of the “global gag rule” will have dire consequences for the #HIV response, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

For the sake of our world's health, I hope all countries will support WHO and their vital work
Given the recent rise of AI-powered search, I thought I’d explore the potential impacts these new tools could have on website traffic, and provide some tips on how to make website content more appealing to #AI algorithms.

At best, it’s loosely based on a 2018 Cisco VNI report prediction that “Internet video traffic will be 82% of all consumer internet traffic by 2022” (which is referring to all video content, not just short-form).
Be careful out there folks!
It's crazy how many common #DigitalMarketing "statistics" are either largely misinterpreted or straight up fabricated.
E.g., the currently popular "90% of all internet traffic stemmed from short-form videos in 2024", which is cited all over the place, has zero statistical basis.
Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
Always amazing to see long-term #PublicHealth programs yield success! In our fast-paced world, it's worth remembering that real change often takes time and dedication.
While a #hepatitisB vaccine administered at birth offers strong protection against infection, approximately 70% of global hepatitis B cases are found in Africa. Yet, in 2022, only 1 in 10 children in Africa received the birth-dose #vaccine.
On our blog, we honor the legacy of Pres. Jimmy Carter, who dedicated his post-presidency to eradicating Guinea worm disease. This parasitic nightmare is now on the brink of elimination—thanks to Carter’s relentless vision and the efforts of The Carter Center.
As we say goodbye to 2024, The #Hepatitis Fund is reflecting on the incredible progress we’ve made — progress that wouldn’t be possible without your support! 🙏
Take a look at some of our key highlights from 2024.

Which is why we must treat potential #pandemics like we do potential national security + economic threats - be #prepared, stay vigilant, have our defenses and tools at the ready for whatever may come.

Sure thing, welcome aboard!
Unknown respiratory disease has so far killed at least 79 people in the Kwango province of DR Congo.
Hope we’ll get to the bottom of this quickly to id the pathogen and get the outbreak under control ASAP.
I see your point, but I think for many people in the US (and other countries) these things are seen as far away problems in exotic locations. I think that’s the point he’s trying to convey.
