PHILLIES RECALL HOFFMAN; OPTION RANGEL Prior to today’s game against the Chicago Cubs, the Phillies recalled right-handed pitcher Nolan Hoffman from triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room on the 26-man roster, right-handed pitcher Alan Rangel was optioned to Lehigh Valley following last night’s game. Additionally, right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker was released.

The Springfield Cardinals are changing the name of their ballpark from Hammons Field to Route 66 Stadium, starting 5/5. A collaboration between the team & multiple community partners.

No. 14 prospect Cole Mathis is headed up to High-A South Bend. Mathis hit .294/.439/.765 with seven homers in 14 games at Single-A Myrtle Beach before the promotion. He managed only 29 games total in the MiLB regular season in 2025 due to Tommy John rehab and an elbow sprain.
Chuck Davalan has his second 2 homer game of the season for Great Lakes.
Brewers prospect Luis Lara has his third homer of the season for Triple-A Nashville.
That exceeds his 2025 total of two homers over 136 games. This is only his 20th game of the 2026 season.
