Shouldn't be surprising, given the impact of meth on their existence/sound. Meth=maga=meth.

I agree. Love your teak cleat, BTW. Looks beautiful. When I was doing more woodturning, I loved working with teak. It smells so nice!
I know the feeling. With what I've spent on my Hobie 16 so far this spring, I could have bought another... or two.
No. A jib is an actual sail and is used on most sailboats today. The jib acts as an airfoil, catching wind and helping to propel the boat forward. It helps reduce turbulence and improve stability, and is essential for changing direction and increasing speed.
Actually, it isn't part of a sail, nor old vernacular. It is a type of sail, located fore of the mast.
Just finished painting this room. Needs trim and flooring, then we can move into it and finish the other room we've been using as our bedroom.
When we got this house "dried-in," plumbing, electrical final inspections, insulation installed, we couldn't wait to move in. We were already sleeping in it and using the rental for cooking and cleaning. We agreed that it was worth the extra work, moving everything multiple times. And it has been!
Here's one in the Sangre De Cristo range in Colorado's San Luis Valley...
Heading to Colorado Springs next weekend for another stellar night at Stargazers. Then, Buena Vista on May 9 at The Lariat. Lots more coming up this summer, including the 250th Independence Day celebration in Salida, and the Strawberry Festival in Glenwood Springs. Stay tuned for more details.
We had nothing but cold wind in the San Luis Valley. Currently have sunshine and mostly clear skies.
From Aug. 2013. Cotton Creek Trail in the Sangre De Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains. #ForestFriday
Sustained winds on 20-25 knots, gusts up to 30+ knots. Good day to stay inside and paint...
Closer to home...
Haven't been there since Brit Floyd.
And on an electric guitar, even! Amazing!!
Yeah, for sure. We only had one good snowstorm this winter, and temps are already higher than usual. I can see the sand dunes from my front porch, though at a distance.
Pretty close to it, yeah.
It was amazing, to be sure. Right now, though, they are having major issues with electrical outages. Anyone without a generator is struggling.
I miss living on St. John...
Rigged new sheets and halyards this morning. It was a beautiful spring morning, with light breezes and cool temps.
New tramp and PVA Sure-Grip rails. Getting closer to getting on the water. #sailing #hobiecat #coloradosailing
Tom Morello opening speech in Minneapolis 🔥
I had no idea. Mrs. dirtroaddweller went to Salida for the demonstration there. I had to stay home and work on the house. We went together the last time.
Too far away. Going to NK in Salida.
Clouds from the northeast spilling over the mountains as the wind increases...
Haven't tried sailing Dillon yet. Blue Mesa can be fun, though.
Lupino, smiling, in windbreaker and slacks, barefoot, sitting on a sailboat at sea lightly holding a small rope.
Ida Lupino, 1947:
“Now I want to wander from the path of acting. … But the day has come when I am looking toward a new horizon—that of the sea. To become a vagabond—without the pantomime, the glare of the footlights, the merciless eye of the camera—that is my dream.”
Often inspiring, or offering a moment for contemplation, a sunset is probably the most commonly photographed celestial event. But this uncommonly beautiful sunset picture was taken on a special day, the Equinox on September 22. Marking the astronomical change of seasons, on that day Earth dwellers experienced nearly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness (an equal night). Reflected in the calm waters of Lake Balaton with a motionless sailboat in silhouette, the Sun is setting due west and heading south across the celestial equator. In the background lies the Benedictine Archabbey of Tihany, Hungary.

I miss living on St. John. Mostly, the sailing.
Sadly, we've neglected our '77 Hobie 16 sailboat for 14 years. Time to get her fixed up and ready to sail again. We could probably buy another for what it's costing, but...
